Senior Software Engineer, Java - App Ecosystem

The Commerce App Ecosystem team is dedicated to building a modern developer platform, empowering third parties to extend the functionality of our e-commerce ecosystem. By offering a comprehensive suite of APIs, we allow developers to create unique solutions for marketing, inventory, fulfillment, and customer management. The App Ecosystem platform is crucial for our high-revenue merchants, as it allows them to access expanded functionality to improve operations and achieve growth.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Java Backend Engineer to join our team, focusing on building and enhancing our developer platform. You will join a high impact team instrumental to powering Squarespace's Commerce goals.

This role is hybrid in Dublin, being 3 days per week in the office and you will report to the Engineering Team Manager.

• Lead technical design and implementation of complex features, focusing on API extensibility, performance, and maintainability.
• Work in a cross-functional team, including external developers.
• Mentor junior engineers in Java development best practices.

• Proficiency in developing RESTful APIs with understanding of API design principles, versioning, and documentation.
• 5+ years of experience in Java and the Spring ecosystem.
• Experience with distributed systems, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
