At Compass, our mission is to help everyone find their place in the world. Founded in 2012, we’re revolutionizing the real estate industry with our end-to-end platform that empowers residential real estate agents to deliver exceptional service to seller and buyer clients.

The Compass Integrated Services (CIS) engineering team is at the core of driving our next phase of growth and platform evolution. We empower agents and their clients to seamlessly manage the entire transaction journey by offering a complete suite of integrated homeownership services. By building a standardized, "one-click" workflow, our team provides the technology and operations that power strategic partnered services—including Title & Escrow, Home Warranty, Mortgage, and Insurance—across a broad national footprint.

Through the creation of this centralized and seamless technological ecosystem, we achieve powerful operational synergies. This work directly drives agent efficiency and deeper client loyalty, ultimately leading to strengthened platform adoption, enhanced customer retention, and increased per-transaction profitability for Compass.

At Compass, You Will:

  • Build "One-Click" User Experiences: Lead the frontend development of seamless, intuitive user interfaces for lead generation and order submission workflows for Title & Escrow, Insurance, Mortgage, and Home Warranty within the Home Platform.
  • Drive Frontend Legacy Migrations: Play a key role in the technical migration of frontend workflows and components from legacy systems to our integrated platform, ensuring zero disruption to existing attach metrics and agent satisfaction.
  • Develop Robust Integrations: Partner closely with backend engineers to securely and efficiently consume internal APIs and third-party partner integrations (such as Assurant, GRA, and Origin Point).
  • Implement Complex Business Logic: Address complex product requirements within the UI tier, handling multi-tenancy rules, form validations, and complex state management across various real estate workflows.
  • Elevate Frontend Standards: Write high-quality, testable, and performant code. Establish frontend best practices, lead UI-focused design reviews, and champion accessibility and performance across the Integrated Services ecosystem.

What We Look For:

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, with a strong emphasis on frontend development using TypeScript and React.
  • Deep expertise in frontend architecture, complex state management, and building scalable, reusable UI component libraries.
  • Proven experience migrating legacy frontend applications to modern web architectures while maintaining a seamless user experience.
  • Strong understanding of web performance optimization, accessibility standards (a11y), and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Solid experience integrating complex frontend applications with backend microservices via gRPC.
  • A collaborative, full-stack mindset with the ability and willingness to navigate or contribute to backend services (e.g., Go or Node.js) when needed to unblock features.
  • Dedication to frontend testing best practices utilizing tools like Jest, Cypress, or React Testing Library.
  • Comfort working across modern CI/CD tooling, frontend build pipelines (e.g., Webpack, Vite), and collaborative Git-based workflows.
  • Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools in real delivery environments, including familiarity with tools like ClaudeCode and concepts such as CLAUDE.md project configuration and custom skills.
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
