Have you caught yourself in the grocery store daydreaming about code… yeah, us too. At Fixify, we believe that technology is about more than code and algorithms — it's about enabling connections between people. That's why we're on a quest for a Senior Software Engineer who finds joy in building technology and knows the work doesn't end at git commit. For you, the product's potential isn't fulfilled until it's in the hands of users, helping them work better, collaborate effortlessly, all while putting a skip in their step.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll work collaboratively with other engineers on all aspects of our product. You'll take ownership of feature delivery in horizontally scalable messaging pipelines while also ensuring the rounded corner of every button in the UI is just right. No doubt you'll come with lots of great ideas of how to evolve the product as you get to explore Fixify's exciting range of features, including large language models (LLMs). We're also big believers in staying close to our customers. So you'll also immerse yourself in our users' environments and refine your work based on their feedback. Attention to detail is key – especially when it comes to communicating clearly with our users. One perk of being a start up is that you'll have the opportunity to see the impact of every adjustment you make, even the smallest one.

What we can do for you
  • Welcome you into a team that values every voice and learns from every challenge.
  • Give you endless opportunities to learn new things.
  • Provide you with work that influences organizations globally and makes a tangible difference in how people connect and collaborate.
  • Share the "why" behind every decision so you learn from our collective journey.
  • Connect you with users for direct visibility into how people use the integrations and how your changes impact their day-to-day lives.
What you should bring with you
  • At least 5 years of experience building scalable and observable SaaS solutions with one of the big three cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Strong knowledge of Typescript or a passion to quickly learn and master it.
  • A practice of "kind engineering" that produces well documented, modular code that's a delight for the next engineer that works on it.
  • A keen eye for detail – especially when reviewing pull requests.
  • A genuine interest in understanding user needs and translating them into technical solutions.
  • The ability to work cross-functionally and lift the team with your positive energy.
  • A curious nature and a drive to keep improving.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
