What you'll do as a Senior Software Engineer
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services that power personalized marketing experiences for millions of DraftKings customers.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Data Scientists, Data Analysts, and Marketing stakeholders to implement systems that tailor campaigns and content to customer preferences.
- Lead initiatives to modernize and automate our internal MarTech stack, increasing efficiency and innovation velocity.
- Own services deployed in a cloud-native environment, ensuring reliability, performance, and maintainability at scale.
- Contribute to system architecture and design discussions with a focus on scalability, performance, and fault tolerance.
- Write clean, maintainable code, and participate in code reviews to uphold high engineering standards.
- Mentor junior engineers and lead by example in technical design, development, and cross-functional collaboration.
What you'll bring
- 3+ years of experience working in an object-oriented programming language such as Java or C#.
- 3+ years of experience working with both relational and NoSQL databases.
- Hands-on experience with JavaScript and front-end integration (experience with React or similar frameworks is a plus).
- 3+ years of experience building, deploying, and operating systems in a cloud environment (AWS, GCP, or Azure preferred).
- A strong understanding of distributed systems, performance optimization, and scalability challenges.
- Experience working in a fast-paced Agile environment and collaborating across multiple teams.
- Passion for data-driven decision-making, marketing automation, and personalization technologies.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
