About the roleOur engineering teams build the software that powers clinical care delivery at Oak Street Health — patient scheduling, care coordination, clinical records, and the integrations that connect our systems to health networks across the country. As a Sr Software Engineer, you'll own complex workstreams, drive technical decisions within your domain, and mentor the engineers around you. - Lead code reviews, set technical standards, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers
- Hold the team accountable for test coverage, observability, and the production health of the services you own
Minimum Requirements
- 5+ years building distributed backend systems in production
- Proficiency building system prompts and utilizing AI frameworks
- Hands-on experience with MongoDB or comparable document stores

Preferred Requirements
- Experience building extract, transform, load (ETL/ELT) workflows using Databricks
- Deep familiarity with domain-driven design and bounded context modeling
- Experience with healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7) or EMR integrations
- Background in high-throughput, low-latency service design at scale
- Experience with event sourcing, CQRS, or other advanced event-driven patterns
Education
