Position Summary:
The Senior Site Reliability Engineer within the Platform group will join a tight-knit, cross-functional team of scientists and engineers. This team is dedicated to developing a scalable and robust platform that will underpin Natera's next generation of clinical assays. You will be instrumental in the design, development, and architecture of software products relevant to the clinical laboratory, while also contributing to cutting-edge R&D, bioinformatics, and high-performance computing initiatives. We're seeking an experienced candidate who is proficient across various tech stacks, passionate about building robust and scalable software, and excited about their work directly impacting the care of millions of patients.
The Senior DevOps & Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will design and implement our AWS and Kubernetes platform. You'll architect and automate scalable, secure infrastructure that supports our bioinformatics workflows while maintaining operational excellence and cost optimization.
Required Skills:
BS degree in computer science or equivalent program
7+ years of software development experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM)
Expert-level Terraform skills, including module development and state management
Experience with EKS, Karpenter, and Kubernetes operators
Expertise in AWS security best practices and compliance frameworks
Experience with monitoring and observability tools
Knowledge of cost allocation tags and AWS Cost Explorer
Experience with infrastructure validation and testing
Strong scripting skills in Python or Bash
Experience with:
Terraform, AWS CDK
EKS, Karpenter, Helm
AWS Lambda, CloudWatch, CloudTrail
Vault or AWS Secrets Manager
Prometheus, Grafana, Loki
AWS Organizations and IAM
Docker, Kubernetes
Terratest for infrastructure validation
