About Discovered Labs

At Discovered Labs we work with $10M - $50M ARR companies to help them get more leads, users and customers from Google, Bing and AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity.

We do this through a mixture of technical optimisations, content marketing, and off-site brand amplification (PR, backlinks, Reddit marketing).

High-level overview of our approach:

  • AI automation and workflows: We build marketing programs as we would a product. Rather than waste several hours per week on repetitive tasks, we create workflows with custom technology that allow us to focus on the high-impact stuff.

  • Senior expertise: To ensure everything is done to a high-standard and differentiated, everything we do is managed and elevated by a team of experts. We don’t let automation get in the way of quality.

  • Full-stack: SEO and AEO rarely work as isolated tasks. We work across the entire funnel and multiple surface areas to ensure we own the outcome and clients win.

This role

We’re looking for a Senior SEO Manager who will own end-to-end organic search performance for a portfolio of B2B clients.

You’ll serve as the directly responsible individual (DRI) who translates SEO and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) strategy into deliberate, well-researched plans that help clients hit measurable measurable business outcomes while also elevating our standards for execution, documentation, and client communication.

This role is fully remote, ideally your timezone is within +/- 4 hours of GMT.

This role is not for you if…
  • You’re a junior SEO who wants to step into a senior role. We’re looking for someone with existing, provable senior experience.

  • You don’t have experience delivering impact across on-page, off-page and technical SEO. You will work and coordinate with a team of specialists, however we’re looking for someone who can own and understands the bigger picture of organic performance.

  • You don’t have experience being the directly responsible individual (DRI) for multiple accounts at the same time.

  • You are uncomfortable being client-facing. We’re looking for someone who’s an excellent communicator and can be a trusted advisor to clients.

  • You've only worked with very large Enterprise brands where things are slow. We're looking for someone who moves fast and doesn't get bogged down in weeks of audits.

What you’ll do
  • Own end-to-end roadmaps and performance for a portfolio of B2B client accounts - you're the directly responsible individual (DRI).

  • Lead execution and oversee SEO and AEO strategy in coordination with a team of specialists: onboarding, audits, strategy development, plan building, technical fixes, on-page optimizations, content direction, off-page presence building.

  • Lead client calls and communications; build trusted relationships with stakeholders ranging from Content Manager to VP/CMO-level. Help clients see what we’re doing and why it matters.

  • Monitor and report on organic performance across traditional search and AI platforms (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews) using Discovered Labs’ own software and technologies.

  • Elevate internal standards: improve templates, SOPs, reporting, and documentation as you go.

The ideal person for this role
  • You like data. You enjoy digging into numbers to understand the cause and effect of performance. You want to understand specifics, trends and outlier variables that can be used to improve performance.

  • You have high agency. If you discover a broken process or problem you seek to fix it. You are proactive rather than reactive.

  • You’re a team player. SEO is so much more than just content, audits and backlinks. To help clients win we must be coordinated rather than work in isolation. You have the confidence and willingness to work as a team and understand as a senior SEO others will look to you for guidance.

  • You’re tactical and strategic. You’re comfortable speaking with VPs and CXOs and you can also get into the technical weeds and geek out with other SEOs.

  • High marketing IQ. You think like a marketer, not just an SEO. You understand how buyers move through the funnel, how content influences them, how LLMs have changed this journey and the implications.

Requirements
  • Existing senior experience owning end-to-end SEO performance (not just task execution)

  • Demonstrated impact across technical, on-page, and off-page SEO (the bigger picture)

  • Experience being the directly responsible individual (DRI) for multiple accounts at the same time

  • Comfort being client-facing (leading calls, handling comms, and building trust with stakeholders up to VP/CMO level)

  • Ability to translate SEO/AEO metrics into executive-ready narratives tied to traffic, pipeline, and revenue

  • Strong documentation and process improvement habits (you raise the bar as you go)

  • Agency background with multi-client portfolio management

  • Familiarity with B2B SaaS

Culture fit

You should ideally believe:

  • Search has fundamentally changed. Google and backlinks are important but no longer the full picture - AI search is a new frontier and you're excited about that shift.

  • AI is a force multiplier, not a crutch. You're actively (or you have the willingness to) using AI tools daily: prompt engineering, context files, projects. You're building workflows, not just typing into ChatGPT.

  • Intensity without hustle culture. We work hard because we’re high-performers, not because someone's watching. Everyone here is in the weeds, operating with urgency.

You'll thrive here if:

You get energy from making clients successful. You see gaps in processes and fix them without being asked. You proactively communicate, fix problems and move fast.

You won't thrive here if:

You need heavy management. You prefer to stay in the weeds without client interaction. You wait for perfect instructions before acting. You think SEO is still just about keywords and links.

What’s in it for youBenefits
  • $50,000 to $85,000 annual salary depending on relevant skills and experience. Negotiable for the right person.

  • Fully remote position

  • We’re small but growing which means opportunities (financial, experience, job roles)

  • Up to 30 days paid leave

  • Autonomy to perform your role

Work in a new type of agency

We’re not a typical SEO agency. You’ll get a front row seat working in a company that’s truly tech forward. Here’s what makes us different:

  • AI-native from day one. One of our co-founders is ex-Stanford AI. We don't bolt AI onto old processes, we build around it. We’re building a tech-first agency.

  • We build our own tools. We're constantly designing systems that scale quality without shipping AI slop. Engineering and ops thinking is part of the culture.

  • Going against the norm. Most SEO agencies ship 5–10 blogs a month per client. We ship 20–60+ because we've built the systems to do it well, with objective data to show it works better than the old operating model.

  • Everyone has a scorecard. We're relentlessly data-driven. Every person tracks leading metrics so we catch problems early and stay aligned.

  • Small team, big ownership. No layers of middle management. You'll have direct access to founders and real influence on how we operate.

  • We share what we learn. We publish our methodologies (like the CITABLE framework) because we believe transparency builds trust and a rising tide lifts all boats.

So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
