Overview
At Liberty Mutual, we deliver peace of mind every day by helping our customers protect what they value most. Guided by our purpose and passion for placing the customer at the center of everything we do, we are leading a digital transformation that redefines how people experience insurance.
The Servicing Technology domain is accelerating this transformation through two key areas of focus:
- Frontier initiatives, driving radical simplification and modernization across our unified insurance platform.
- Win Now initiatives, advancing agile delivery excellence and enabling high-impact outcomes across existing policy servicing and contact center capabilities.
We are seeking two Senior Scrum Masters to help mature our agile practices and lead the enablement of business agility across Servicing. These roles will guide cross-domain delivery, strengthen agile discipline, and foster alignment between product, technology, and business teams.
About the Role
The Senior Scrum Master plays a critical role in advancing the maturity of agile practices across Servicing. Acting as a servant leader, coach, and delivery catalyst, you will:
Lead and mature agile delivery:
- Form and nurture disciplined, high-performing, cross-domain teams that embody agile principles. Guide teams toward predictable delivery and continuous improvement while embracing a Lean-Agile mindset.

- Partner across IT, Business, Architecture, and Security to remove systemic impediments, align priorities, and optimize value flow across programs such as Frontier and other strategic Servicing initiatives.
Standardize and optimize practices:
- Drive consistency in tooling (e.g., JIRA workflows, metrics, and dashboards), backlog organization, and performance measures such as burndown, velocity, capacity, and delivery quality.
Promote scaled agility and delivery transparency:
- Facilitate scaled planning (Scrum of Scrums, PI Planning, Release Planning), cross-program dependency management, and empirical decision-making through qualitative and quantitative insights.
Coach and mentor:
- Grow the capabilities of Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and leaders by sharing best practices and developing organizational expertise in Lean-Agile principles. Provide training and mentorship in scaling frameworks and team facilitation.
Champion continuous improvement:
- Foster a culture of learning, experimentation, and data-driven improvement across teams and domains. Identify and address anti-patterns, promote open dialogue, and enable decentralized decision-making.
Advance engineering excellence:
- Collaborate with QA, DevOps, and Tech Enablement to strengthen integration, testing, automation, and delivery pipelines aligned with High-Performing Engineering (HPE) standards.
Drive community and culture:
- Contribute to agile communities of practice, facilitating learning cohorts and circles that deepen enterprise-wide agile maturity and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Business, Computer Science, or related discipline).
- Minimum 6+ years of IT and program management experience within Agile environments, including coaching and facilitation.
- Minimum 6 years in an agile role capacity, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Proven success in cross-functional or cross-domain program delivery and agile transformation initiatives.
- Exceptional communication, facilitation, and organizational skills, with demonstrated ability to influence at multiple levels of the organization.
