Description
Liberty Mutual's Global Cybersecurity portfolio is looking for a Senior Scrum Master (SSM) to join our Security Program Management & Business Operations team. In this position, the qualified candidate will be operating as a Release Train Engineer (RTE) for multiple Agile Release Trains (ARTs) within our portfolio. The successful candidate will be in tight alignment with another Sr. Scrum Master and the Manager of Cybersecurity Agile Enablement who is responsible for the agile growth and train consistency throughout the entire portfolio. Working together, you will help the organization on their path towards agile maturity and business agility.
As a SSM, you will lead release trains that include multiple agile teams, and represent the goals and missions of our aligned stakeholders. You will be responsible for the effectiveness of the trains you are aligned with. You must have deep experience in complex programs across multiple lines of parallel tracks of work, many of which overlap and have complex technological solutions. You will have a direct influence on our key performance indicators, scaling our value streams, and continuing our agile growth.
Responsibilities:
• Partner closely with the other SSM working with the trains to implement consistent process and tools, identify emerging best practices, and help to advance agile growth within Global Cybersecurity
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) or advisor to leadership, Architects, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and squads as an expert on Agile practices and to coach on a variety of approaches to optimize value delivery
• Through your knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), provide scaling expertise to align multiple agile teams, collaborate and facilitate quarterly planning, assist with program backlog management, and facilitate decision making with Product Ownership, Senior Leaders, and Architects
• Support the scrum masters as they work with their teams to improve Agile practices with a focus on increasing PI predictability.
• Facilitate train ceremonies such as the Scrum of Scrums and Program Increment (PI) Planning Events
• Facilitate PI planning readiness via program level refinement and pre-planning events
• Maintain transparent and accurate PI plan progress/status and visibility into dependencies and risks
• Use Jira and Confluence for facilitating storyboards, backlogs, and reporting
• Provide feedback to management at all levels regarding the progress of agile transformations within the teams
• Keep informed of advances in Project Management methodologies, Agile practices, and IT Security
Qualifications
Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and 7+ years of IT/program management/leadership experience working in agile teams, including responsibilities such as RTE, Agile Coach, or Program Manager
• Knowledge/training equivalent to at least one advanced certification from a reputable Lean/agile organization preferred (Scrum.org SPS, SAFe SPC, SAFe RTE, ICAgile Professional ICP-ATF, ICAgile Professional ICP-ACC, Project Management Institute PMI-ACP)
• Thorough knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) practices and Agile project management concepts, practices, and techniques (Scrum Master certification required; CSM, SSM, PSM, SASM, etc.).
• Cybersecurity knowledge and experience preferred
• Requires solid project management skills, ability to multitask and manage multiple projects in a cross-functional environment
• Strong communication, facilitation, presentation and consensus building skills
• Must be an excellent team player, mentor, and collaborator
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, across diverse systems and groups
• Must be self-motivated, creative, and efficient in proposing solutions to complex, time-critical problems
• Actively practice continuous learning by seeking opportunities for self-improvement and agile maturity
