Role overview
As a Senior Salesforce Engineer, you will play a key role in developing, maintaining, and enhancing Salesforce-centered applications. Collaborating closely with stakeholders and Product Managers, you will evaluate the impact of new requirements on interconnected applications, ensuring the implementation of effective solutions. You will leverage your deep understanding of Salesforce architecture, application programming, and security principles to create scalable, high-performance solutions.
What you'll do
- Solution Design, Development & Deployment:
- Lead the development of high-quality, complex code using Apex, LWC, SOQL, Visualforce, and declarative tools to build robust Salesforce customizations and integrations.
- Ensure scalable and maintainable solutions by following best practices for both declarative and programmatic approaches.
- Oversee package building, deployment across multiple environments, and manage the release cycle with proper versioning and rollbacks.
- Architecture, Performance & Scalability:
- Actively participate in architectural decisions with a focus on optimizing performance, scalability, and security.
- Conduct impact assessments for new requirements, ensuring alignment with both upstream and downstream systems and processes.
- API & Integration Management:
- Design, build, and manage integrations between Salesforce and external applications, including telephony, payment, live chat/SMS solutions.
- Utilize REST APIs, Web Services, JSON, and Platform Events to create seamless connections between systems.
- Quality Assurance & Testing:
- Lead comprehensive quality testing efforts, including creating test plans, executing test cases, and tracking defects for enterprise applications.
- Implement advanced testing strategies, such as automated and performance testing frameworks, to ensure the reliability and efficiency of Salesforce solutions.
- Analytics, Reporting & System Optimization:
- Leverage Salesforce analytics and enterprise-level tools to extract insights and drive data-driven decision-making.
- Ensure the continuous optimization of system performance, monitoring for potential issues and areas for improvement.
- Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis:
- Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for both development and production environments.
- Use system metrics and analysis to identify and resolve issues promptly, minimizing downtime and ensuring smooth operation.
- Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:
- Collaborate with stakeholders, peers, and junior team members to review technical designs, conduct peer reviews, and share best practices.
- Work within an Agile methodology, ensuring iterative development and continuous feedback.
- Stay updated on the latest Salesforce technologies and security trends, improving your skills in areas like performance enhancement and threat remediation.
What you'll bring
- Salesforce Expertise:
- Strong knowledge of Salesforce Service and Sales Cloud, including opportunities, leads, Salesforce CPQ, cases, entitlements, Omni-Channel Routing, reporting, security/sharing, automation, and data imports.
- Experience integrating Salesforce with document management, billing, and subscription management tools.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Apex, LWC, SOQL, Visualforce, and Platform Events.
- Experience with REST APIs, Web Services, JSON, and other integrations.
- Familiarity with AppExchange and the ability to quickly learn 3rd-party applications.
- Proficiency with GitHub or a similar version control system.
- Understanding of error monitoring tools and practices.
- Development Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with Salesforce Sales and Service Cloud in a developer role.
- 5+ years of professional experience administering and developing SaaS applications.
- Experience with Java or similar object-oriented programming languages.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong presentation and communication skills, with fluency in professional English (verbal and written).
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Experience working in Agile environments and collaborating with teams.
- Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Salesforce certifications such as Certified Administrator and Platform Developer I and II are preferred.
