Job Description:

As a Senior Ruby on Rails Developer, you will play a key role in the development and enhancement of our core applications. You will be responsible for working within an existing codebase, ensuring the quality and scalability of the system, and contributing to new feature development. You should have a strong background in RESTful APIs and PostgreSQL databases, along with a commitment to writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.

Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain and Enhance Existing Codebase: Dive into our existing codebase to understand current functionality and work on enhancing and optimizing the application.

- Develop and Integrate RESTful APIs: Design, implement, and maintain RESTful APIs that are efficient, scalable, and secure.

- Database Management: Work with PostgreSQL databases, ensuring data integrity, optimizing queries, and designing database schemas.

- Code Quality and Testing: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code. Implement automated tests to ensure the reliability and performance of the application.

- Collaborate with Team Members: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other developers to deliver high-quality features on time.

- Troubleshoot and Debug: Identify and fix bugs, performance issues, and other technical challenges as they arise.

- Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve the codebase and development processes.

Requirements:

- Experience: 5+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails.

- API Development: Strong experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs.

- Database Skills: Proficient in PostgreSQL, including database design, optimization, and complex queries.

- Code Quality: A strong commitment to writing clear, maintainable, and well-tested code.

- Existing Codebase: Proven ability to quickly get up to speed with an existing codebase and make impactful contributions.

- Testing: Experience with automated testing frameworks and methodologies.

- Team Collaboration: Excellent communication skills and a team-player mentality.

- Location: Must be able to work on-site in Miami, FL.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with other programming languages and frameworks.

- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS.

- Knowledge of front-end technologies (e.g., JavaScript, React, HTML, CSS) - Advantage
