Senior Engineer – Robotics Simulation Engineer

Location: Ireland
Team: Edge AI Group, Analog Devices Inc. (ADI)

Analog Devices’ Edge AI team is on a mission to redefine how machines perceive and interact with the world. We’re building real-time, intelligent systems that combine world-class sensor technology with cutting-edge AI — at the Edge, where milliseconds matter.

We are seeking a Staff Robotics Simulation Engineer to join our innovative team and play a pivotal role in the development of high-fidelity simulations for fixed-arm robots and Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs).

In this role, you will leverage your extensive expertise in simulation platforms to develop custom sensor models and create synthetic data for advanced AI applications. You will collaborate with a talented team of hardware, AI, and fellow simulation engineers to drive the future of robotics simulation, with a focus on closing the simulation-to-reality gap to ensure that our simulations accurately reflect real-world performance.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement custom sensor models in various simulation platforms.

  • Oversee the creation and optimization of simulations for fixed-arm robots and AMRs to facilitate synthetic data generation for training AI models.

  • Utilize Universal Scene Description (USD) to create and manage simulation assets effectively.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware, AI, and simulation engineers to ensure seamless integration of simulation data into real-world applications.

  • Drive the development of simulation frameworks that enhance the realism and accuracy of robotic simulations, actively working to close the simulation-to-reality gap.

  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in robotics simulation, sensor technologies, and AI to guide the team in adopting innovative solutions.

Qualifications

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in robotics, simulation, or related fields, with at least 3+ years directly building or extending simulation platforms for robotic systems.

  • Proven expertise in using NVIDIA Isaac Sim or other common simulation platforms.

  • Strong proficiency in Python, C++ and ROS/ROS2, with experience integrating simulation into real robotic stacks.

  • Hands-on experience with sensor simulation, especially ToF, RGB-D, LiDAR, or IMUs.

  • Solid understanding of the sim-to-real gap and techniques to reduce it (e.g., noise modeling, domain randomization, physics-based modeling).

Bonus Experience

  • Experience with machine learning and its applications in robotics.

  • Contributions to open-source simulation projects or tools relevant to robotics.

  • Understanding of sensor design and signal processing principles.

  • Proven track record of delivering simulation-driven workflows for AI model training, system validation, or perception testing.

Why Join Us?

Join ADI’s Edge AI team to help create truly intelligent edge systems — where sensing, learning, and acting happen in real time. You’ll work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, solving hard problems with people who care about impact, reliability, and real-world performance.
