In this role, you will be responsible for underwriting and rendering loan decisions on complex consumer and real estate loan applications and has the highest lending authority within the group to sign off on more complex loans. Review applicant credit information and determine and communicate loan decisions in accordance with underwriting and compliance standards, credit union policy and risk tolerance in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Analyze and interpret credit information including income tax returns, title reports and all types of valuations including appraisals.
Responsibilities- Analyze and makes final approval decisions on consumer and home equity loan applications.
- Make appropriate recommendations including counter offering, restructuring and recommendation of other credit union products/services.
- Underwrite loans by analyzing credit reports, tax returns, pay statements and W2 forms.
- Interpret title and property reports and makes appropriate decisions on the use of property valuations and appraisals to protect the credit union's interests for home equity loans and grants or declines loans based on credit union policies, guidelines and risk tolerance.
- Make recommendations to the manager or credit committee on loans outside of the consumer underwriter’s lending authority.
- Act as subject matter expert for the team on complex underwriting issues, trains, coaches and mentors new team members.
Education:
- Bachelors Degree - Business, Finance or Related - Minimum
Years of Experience:
- 5 Years - Mortgage, consumer lending or related - Minimum
In Lieu of Education:
- 8 Years - Mortgage, consumer lending or related
Compensation & Benefits:
Typical hiring range: $99,200 - $140,100 Annually. Actual compensation will be determined using factors such as experience, skills & knowledge.
