Job Title: Senior Research Associate, BioAnalytics (Biophysics)

Location: Waltham, MA

 

About the Job

We are seeking a motivated senior research associate to join our BioAnalytics Characterization group in the Genomic Medicine Unit within Sanofi. The Genomic Medicine Unit at Sanofi is dedicated to the establishment of best-in-class platforms to support development of life-changing advanced gene therapy products, including recombinant AAV vectors and lipid nanoparticles. The BioAnalytics Characterization group uses advanced analytical techniques for in-depth structural and functional characterization of gene therapy products in support of drug development, from pre-candidate selection through commercialization.

 

Main Responsibilities:

 

  • Perform analytical characterization techniques such as DLS, SV-AUC, AF4-MALS, Cytoflex/NanoFCM, NTA, CE, cIEF and fluorescence assays to support batch/stability testing, reference standard characterization, stress study and comparability and process development.  
  • Designs procedural and experimental approach to meet designated scientific objectives; Executes experiments independently.
  • Plan and perform experimental procedures across multiple projects simultaneously and document the work in an electronic lab notebook. Integrate, compile, analyze, and interpret data with some supervision.
  • Perform data analysis and reports results in oral and written formats.
  • Author data packets, protocols, and technical reports
  • Manage instrument maintenance, calibrations and trouble shootings.

About You

  • B.S. degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry or M.S. degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related discipline with 0-2 years of relevant experience
  • Hands-on experience in multiple biophysical techniques listed above.
  • Experience in characterizing proteins, viral/nonviral vectors
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication and critical thinking skills
  • Note: Candidates with no prior gene therapy experience are encouraged to apply! Transferable skills from related fields will be considered.

Basic Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry or M.S. degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related discipline with 0-2 years of relevant experience

  • Hands-on experience in multiple biophysical techniques listed above.

  • Experience in characterizing proteins, viral/nonviral vectors

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication and critical thinking skills

The salary range for this position is:

$73,500.00 - $106,166.66

All compensation will be determined commensurate with demonstrated experience. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs. Additional benefits information can be found through the LINK.
