Job Summary

Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our organization in the Division of Chronic Disease Research Across the Lifecourse (CoRAL). In this position, the Senior Research Assistant will conduct data work for several research studies based at the Department of Population Medicine (DPM). This work includes tasks such as report generation, data validation, database updates, dataset creation for external partners, preparation of datasets, and additional technical work. They will also perform several administrative tasks as necessary such as contributing to the maintenance of software applications and relevant data and technical documentation.

  • Supports data management, data project timelines, technical infrastructure and other data tasks for several research cohort studies.
  • Assists in development and coordination of data collection tools, such as surveys and data collection forms, for research studies, including maintaining project databases (REDCap, Ripple, or similar)
  • Develop and write software programs and code to support database creation, data problem identification and resolution, and results reporting.
  • Participate in data review, cleaning, and organization including developing programs to support database creation, data problem identification and resolution, and results reporting.
  • Perform data quality control activities. 
  • Develop detailed knowledge of grant data and dataset structure to assist in identifying ways to streamline data management and increase usability of existing data. Build and maintain high-standard documentation of data work and tasks.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with internal staff and external study partners. Attend and actively participate in staff, data/operations, and co-investigator meetings for multiple projects. 
  • Provides support to internal and external data and project collaborators
  • Performs day-to-day general tasks in support of research studies
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; 1 year with related experience.
    • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • Capable of completing very detail-oriented tasks
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Experience with Microsoft Office; Word and Excel required.
  • Resilient, collaborative, flexible, innovative.

Salary Range

$22.44 -$33.66

The annual base salary range provided for this position represents a range of salaries for this role and similar roles across the organization.  The actual salary for this position will be determined by several factors, including the scope and complexity of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; as well as internal equity. Eligibility for any bonus, commission, benefits, or any other form of compensation and benefits remains in the Company's sole discretion and may be modified at the Company’s sole discretion, consistent with the law.
