The Position
In general, the position is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation and administration of local and global policies and programs for staffing, employee relations, compensation and benefits, employee development and training, organizational development, regulatory compliance to meet the business strategies and customer requirements within the framework of the Company's overall corporate philosophy and policies, external laws, and regulations. Encompasses all the Generalist level Duties, Activities, and Responsibilities, Provides continuous improvement of HR processes, requires minimal supervision & Other duties as assigned.
Relationships
Reports to Human Resources Manager.
Essential Functions
- HR Business Partner Team
- Develops and maintains strong partner relationships with the business and key stakeholders to coach and influence the best business decisions
- Supports traditional HR areas such as employee relations, benefits administration, compensation/merit administration, HR compliance, wellness programs and employee activities among others
- Culture & Employee Engagement
- Maintains high visibility to promote HR programs and assist management with effective facility wide communication
- Manages orientation and onboarding programs; creates and delivers training and other presentations as appropriate
- Data Analytics
- Supports training of the site's performance management program (PMP); coordinates all aspects of the performance management system and process, providing guidance to managers and employees on effective utilization of the process
- Maintains, reports, evaluates, and translates metrics on headcount, turnover, absenteeism, and other HR metrics and provides recommendations to improve
- Maintains position management related to headcount
- HR Site Shared Services
- Administers leave of absence and related pay continuation policies with assistance from HR Manager e.g., FMLA, jury duty, funeral/military leave, short term/long term disability, etc., and ensures compliance with related record keeping requirements, and ensures compliance with the applicable state and federal law(s)
Physical Requirements
Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reading of written documents and use of computer monitor screen, reaching with hands and arms, talking, writing, listening. Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, carrying, grasping. Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds. Must comply with EHS responsibilities for the position. Working conditions will be Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioned controlled.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree and minimum of 5 years broad and progressive experience in human resources, required. Or in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree, a minimum of 13 years of experience, required
- PHR or SPHR certification, preferred
- Exposure to pharmaceutical or related technical industries, preferred

- Strong knowledge of HR management concepts and labor laws with a consultative, results-oriented approach
- Superior customer service orientation with strong follow-up skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships with coworkers of all levels
- Demonstrated success in collaborating with others and utilizing independent thought
- Display good judgment and ethics, professional presence, and demeanor
- Demonstrated strong business acumen
- Understanding of pharmaceutical laboratory and / or production operations
- Capable of rapid learning of unfamiliar principles or techniques with minimum training
- Can effectively back-up manager to address limited technical or business issues with prior instructions
- Ability to use Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other office systems
