JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Report Writer - Workday supports advanced reporting needs across Human Capital Management (HCM), Financials, and Student domains. This role is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining sophisticated Workday reports that provide actionable insights to leadership and help drive data-informed decision-making. Utilizes a broad and deep understanding of all areas of Workday Reporting & Analytics including Report Writer, Prism Analytics, Composite Reporting, BIRT, Calculated Fields, Dashboards, Discovery Boards, and Worksheets in providing professional services and enablement services for enterprise software in the Cloud.

This role is hybrid and in the office a minimum of three days a week to facilitate collaboration and teamwork. In-office presence is an essential part of our on-campus culture and allows for engaging directly with staff and students, sharing ideas, and contributing to a dynamic work environment. Being on-site allows for stronger connections, more effective problem-solving, and enhanced team synergy, all of which are key to achieving our collective goals and driving success.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge and skills required for this position are normally obtained through a Bachelor’s degree in data Analytics, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field with three (3) years hands-on experience building Workday reports across multiple domains (HCM, Finance, Payroll).  Workday Certification in at least one of the following: Workday Financials, Workday Reporting, Advanced Reporting required. Proficiency in Workday reporting tools, including Advanced, Matrix, Composite, and BIRT reports required. Strong understanding of Workday data structures, business processes, and security models needed. Experience with data visualization tools or Workday Prism Analytics a plus.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

1) Design and develop complex custom reports in Workday using Advanced, Matrix, Composite, Trending, and BIRT (Business Intelligence and Reporting Tools) reports.

2) Partner with HR, Finance, Student Services, and Institutional Research teams to support operational and strategic reporting needs including translating requirements to deliver accurate and meaningful reports

3) Build dashboards and scorecards using Workday Prism Analytics, Workday Discovery Boards (if available), and other Workday tools.

4) Maintain reporting documentation, data dictionaries, and metadata to support institutional transparency and reusability.

5) Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to reporting performance, data discrepancies, and user access and proactively identify opportunities to improve data accessibility and self-service through training.

Expected Hiring Range:

$75,210.00 - $106,230.00

With the pay range(s) shown above, the starting salary will depend on several factors, which may include your education, experience, location, knowledge and expertise, and skills as well as a pay comparison to similarly-situated employees already in the role. Salary ranges are reviewed regularly and are subject to change.
