What you will do

Johnson Controls, Global Fire Detection Products is searching for a Senior Regulatory Engineer to be located at the R&D facility in Westford, MA. In this role, you will be responsible for regulatory strategies for new and existing products that require multiple agency approvals. Coordinate interactions, compliance activities and interact with various regulatory agencies. Candidates must be commuting distance to the Westford, MA, facility. We offer various relocation packages based on your needs.

How you will do it

  • Work with approval agencies (UL, FM, CSFM, etc), including international agencies, on new product approvals.

  • Maintain listings of existing products with approval agencies.

  • Coordinate approval agencies testing at our facility and agency facilities.

  • Assist planning of the approval agencies test setups.

  • Become familiar with our product line to develop appropriate approval agency testing strategy.

  • Understand approval agency requirements as they apply to our products.

  • Support other engineering functions with understanding of compliance requirements.

  • Work with internal and external organizations on approval agency questions.

  • Work in a team environment on product development.

What you will need
Required

  • 4+ years experience with submitting and managing UL approval projects from start to finish

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering

  • Electrical knowledge

  • General knowledge and understanding of UL standards and approved product file structure  

  • Ability to balance multiple projects in a fast-changing environment

Preferred

  • Knowledge of commercial fire system components and functionality

  • Experience of directly managing projects with FM, CSFM, NYC and HCAI

  • Experience with fire alarm products

  • Knowledge of NFPA, NEC, NEMA, FCC, CISPR, EN or other worldwide standards

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $100,000 - $140,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
