Requirements
- Senior-Level Expertise: Minimum of 5+ years of professional software development experience, with a heavy focus on backend systems and distributed architecture.
- Asynchronous Programming: Deep understanding of asyncio and writing non-blocking code in Python.
- Proficiency in FastAPI for building high-performance APIs.
- Strong experience using Pydantic for data modeling and settings management.
- Hands-on experience with Temporal (or similar durable execution frameworks) to manage complex, long-running processes.
- Proven ability to design and implement systems based on asynchronous events.
- Messaging/Queuing: Practical knowledge of Pub/Sub (GCP), RabbitMQ, or Kafka for inter-service communication.
- ORM/SQL Mapping: Expertise in SQLAlchemy for database interactions.
- Migrations: Experience managing schema changes using Alembic.
- Experience deploying and maintaining applications within Kubernetes (k8s) environments.

Responsibilities:
- Architect KYC Workflows: Design and maintain scalable, automated onboarding pipelines that integrate with identity verification providers.
- Develop Core Services: Build high-performance backend services and RESTful APIs using Python (FastAPI/Django) to handle sensitive financial data.
- Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Implement and enforce strict data privacy standards (GDPR) and security protocols required by BaFin for PII handling.
- Optimize State Management: Manage complex user verification lifecycles, ensuring high reliability and accurate audit trails for compliance teams.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with Product, Legal, and Compliance stakeholders to translate regulatory requirements into technical specifications.
- Maintain Technical Excellence: Lead code reviews, mentor mid-level engineers, and drive the adoption of testing best practices and CI/CD automation.
- Scalable Infrastructure: Deploy and monitor microservices within a cloud-native environment using Docker, Kubernetes, and asynchronous task queues
