£50,000 - £57,000 plus benefits

Reports to: Trading Strategy, Planning and Change Lead

Directorate: Marketing, Fundraising & Engagement

Contract: 2 year fixed-term contract

Hours: Full time 35 hours per week

Location: Stratford, London Office-based with high flexibility (1-2 days per week in the office)

This Senior Project Manager (Trading Technology Upgrade) role is crucial for leading an impactful and rare project that is estimated to span 2 years. It opens up significant opportunities for Trading to contribute more to Cancer Research UK, making it a ground breaking project for the organisation.

Working closely with the Technology Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the end-to-end delivery of the Trading Technology Upgrade project within Trading, collaborating with a cross-organisation team to implement necessary upgrades to Trading technology systems, such as EPoS hardware and software. This supports Trading's long-term model and seeks to optimise its contribution through omni-channel, stock management, and measurement & reporting opportunities. The role also focuses on enhancing the broader value of Trading's estate for Cancer Research UK through delivering potential new opportunities such as data capture, mass supporter engagement, and potential future loyalty mechanisms.

You will be responsible for collaborating with key stakeholders to meet the needs of the Trading estate, which spans a nationwide network of shops looking after thousands of staff and volunteers. You will ensure compliance with profit protection and health and safety while future-proofing the solution through integrations with other internal technology systems.

What will I be doing?

  • Lead and collaborate with a cross-organisational project team as required across Trading, Technology, Finance, Legal / Procurement, Health & Safety, Learning & Development, Human Resources and Internal Comms to support test & trials, rollout delivery and change management, supporting the successful adoption of any new technology across the Trading estate on time, budget and meeting objectives

  • Create and oversee clear Project Management plans, using effective project management disciplines, including Stakeholder Engagement at all levels, Governance, Project Planning, Financial and Risk Management and Measurement & Reporting

  • Ensure Senior Leadership and other key stakeholders are informed and supported well in advance, through key communications, meeting agenda’s, minutes and actions management

  • Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure full robust business cases are produced as needed and benefits realised, with accurate records for budget purposes

  • Collaborate with Technology Senior Project Manager and other key stakeholders to ensure new activity and processes are appropriately integrated into business as usual

  • Lead on the risk management to minimise project risks, highlight to key stakeholders, provide solutions and escalate where needed

What are we looking for?

  • Proven experience of successful project management, change management and hands-on delivery of large-scale projects with the ability to identify training and development needs

  • Experience rolling out EPOS or similar technology to a large network of sites across the UK

  • Highly organised, able to set and meet demanding deadlines, and to hold others accountable for delivery of projects / activities on time

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to influence senior stakeholders while co-ordinating multiple deliverables with effective engagement through matrix management

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate with a large range of audiences and levels - engaging both 'hearts and minds'  

  • Experience of measuring project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques as well as a strong understanding of tech architecture
