Job Summary

Ready to take the lead on projects that move people and shape communities? TYLin is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager with a passion for delivering high-quality Rail + Transit design projects or programs. This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with some of the most respected transportation agencies in the Mid-Atlantic region—and to help advance TYLin’s impact across the nation.
Based in the Washington DC region, you’ll manage and deliver a diverse portfolio of transportation infrastructure projects—from urban transit and commuter rail to major roadway and highway improvements. You’ll collaborate closely with clients such as WMATA, BART, Caltrans, Caltrain, MTA, Metra, CTA, SEPTA, Amtrak and other regional and national agencies, while also contributing to key programs across the Mid-Atlantic and beyond.
You’ll have the opportunity to lead a talented, multidisciplinary team, mentor emerging engineers, and play a visible role in client engagement, business development, and pursuit strategy across the region.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and deliver complex Rail + Transit and Roads + Highways design projects, from planning to final design.

  • Serve as the primary client contact, ensuring exceptional service, quality, and communication.

  • Mentor and develop junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration.

  • Partner with senior leadership nationwide to pursue new opportunities and strengthen TYLin’s market presence.

  • Represent TYLin at client meetings and industry events throughout the DC, Maryland, Virginia, and broader Mid-Atlantic region.

  • Contribute to winning pursuits through proposal development, strategy, and presentations at both regional and national levels.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Professional Engineer (PE) license required or attainable within one year.

  • 10+ years of experience delivering engineering design projects for major transportation and transit clients.

  • Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and oversee project delivery for public-sector agencies.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with a collaborative and mentoring mindset.

  • Experience balancing technical excellence, client engagement, and business development responsibilities.

Additional Information

TYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $140,000 - $200,000 annually for this position and local market. We recognize that each candidate brings a unique set of skills, experience, education and competencies to the table that will be reflected in our offer.TYLin is proud to offer exciting career development opportunities.
