Job Description SummaryThe Senior Services Project Manager is responsible for the management of complex aftermarket projects in Power Service and is accountable to deliver projects to contract requirements, cost, quality and EHS targets whilst maintaining customer satisfactions.
The Projects will typically be Complex Conversions, Modifications, and Upgrades (CM&Us), rehabilitations or relocations on a brown field site Industrial Heavy-Duty Gas Turbines, Aero-derivative Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, Generators, Heat Recovery Steam Generators, and/or balance-of-plant equipment. The solutions will require full integration, extensive design work and coordination between the matrix fulfillment functions, often with new products introduction, hence robust scope, change management, cost and design control is required. Roles and Responsibilities
- Serve as the GE representative and focal point for the customer on the project, owning the customer relationship for the project duration and driving customer issue resolution.
- Engage and support in offer/tendering phase bringing experience and lessons and ensuring gaps are closed, fulfilment capabilities and execution strategy are robust to ensure the project can be successful in execution.
- Define and implement the Project execution strategy, challenging all aspects of the project setup with overall object to ensure success of project
- Own project execution, including cross-functional coordination of engineering, procurement, shipping logistics, field/ outage execution and performance demonstration.
- Provide Project Leadership, effectively managing and facilitating cross-functional GE teams to ensure on time delivery, contract deliverables fulfilment, and margin attainment/ enhancement.
- Understand and implement Contract Terms & Conditions.
- Manage project financials: price, cost, forecasts, margin, invoicing, and receivables. Manage project risk provisions and participate in Margin Reviews.
- Drive project schedule; work with Project Planner/Scheduler on schedule creation and management.
- Proactively identify, manage, and mitigate project risks throughout the project lifecycle. Escalate risks and issues as needed for resolution.
- Define and manage the strategy for claims management
- Provide project status updates and lead Project Reviews as required.
- Capture and report project best practices/ lessons learned and Cost-of-Poor Quality cases.
- Stakeholder management and communication including Customer, Region, PMO, Senior Management, Consortium members
- Follow Conversions, Modifications and Upgrades (CM&U) Project Management processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or other technical or business related field
- Extensive Project Management experience in Turnkey, large scale services projects for Power Generation or particularly complex extended scope projects
- PMP Certification, Project Management Leadership Program (PMLP) Graduate, or other Project Management training
- Maintain PMO Project Manager Qualification status through ongoing training and recertification as required.
- Willingness and ability to travel for extended periods
