What You’ll Do

This is not a back-seat Program Manager role. As a Senior Program Manager, you’ll lead high-complexity, high-visibility software implementations for our largest and most strategic clients — including tier-one banks and major financial institutions. You’ll own end-to-end delivery across multiple concurrent programs, be the trusted escalation point for executive stakeholders, and formally mentor Project Managers and Consultants across our Global Applied Intelligence team.

You’ll also help shape how we deliver — scoping new project phases, sharpening our delivery methodology, and leaving every engagement (and every teammate) better than you found them.

What You’ll Own

  • Lead flagship engagements — run one or more senior client engagements simultaneously, including complex, multi-workstream implementations for tier-one banks and financial institutions.

  • Deliver, predictably — own consistent, successful delivery, ensuring scope, requirements, staffing, and budget are well defined at every stage of the project lifecycle.

  • Be the trusted advisor — act as the primary escalation point for executive and C-level client stakeholders, managing expectations and building durable relationships.

  • Orchestrate global teams — manage resources across internal teams, clients, and third-party vendors, including cross-regional and cross-functional teams.

  • Keep the record straight — create and maintain documentation for key decisions, action items, issues, and risks.

  • Shape the solution — document detailed requirements for enhancements and new features, partnering with Architects and Consultants on solution design.

  • Drive quality — organize and lead user acceptance testing (UAT) with the right stakeholders.

  • Manage risk like a pro — identify and manage project risk, including regulatory and compliance considerations specific to banking and financial services.

  • Communicate relentlessly — proactively report project and program status to internal and external stakeholders at every level, including senior leadership, and resolve functional and technical questions as they arise.

  • Grow the team — mentor and coach Project Managers and Consultants, supporting their development and performance.

  • Grow the business — ensure client satisfaction, and identify and progress future opportunities.

  • Own the commercials — lead the creation, accuracy, and lifecycle of Statements of Work (SOWs) — scoping, effort/cost estimation, change orders, and renewals — in partnership with Sales, Delivery leadership, and Legal.

Qualifications, Strengths, and Skills

Experience — 8+ years in Project Management, with a demonstrated track record delivering large-scale, complex software implementations for tier-one banks or other major financial institutions.

Education — Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience). PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification required.

Languages — Fluent English required; professional fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese would be a nice-to-have since there will be some cross-collaboration across teams.

  • Proven experience managing enterprise software implementations for tier-one banks, large financial institutions, or other highly regulated enterprises

  • Deep knowledge of the SDLC and multiple implementation methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Iterative)

  • Experience managing implementations from the vendor/consulting side strongly preferred

  • Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to and influencing C-level and executive stakeholders

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills — able to lead, motivate, and develop a team to hit their milestones

  • Proven experience managing technology projects and programs from initiation through production launch and ongoing support

  • Effective management of scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality, customer satisfaction, and senior-level client relationships

  • Working knowledge of regulatory, compliance, and risk considerations relevant to banking and financial services technology

  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), MS Project, and Visio

  • Ability to prioritize, decide under ambiguity, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment

  • Excellent multi-tasking skills across several large, distinct projects or programs simultaneously

  • Strong appreciation of a range of technologies, including databases, and their implementation in a business environment

  • Expert knowledge of systems analysis, business analysis, requirements gathering, and project management techniques — with a proven record of applying them to complex business problems

  • Demonstrated experience owning or co-authoring SOWs, change orders, and scope/estimation documentation for enterprise engagements

The salary range stated reflects the expected base salary for this position and is based on role level, geographic location, skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. This role is also eligible for a comprehensive benefits package.

Our employees are our top priority; we offer comprehensive health and wellness plans. You will enjoy paid time off and company holidays, flexible and remote-friendly opportunities, and maternity/paternity leave.

At Provenir, we recognize that diversity and inclusion make our teams stronger. We are committed to equal employment opportunity and welcome everyone regardless of race, colour, ancestry, religion, national origin, age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, marital status, domestic partner status, citizenship, or veteran status or medical condition. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)

  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
