The Senior Program Director, Process Intensification Strategy & Innovation is responsible for defining and executing a holistic strategy for Process Intensification that accelerates innovation, closes competitive gaps, and delivers measurable business impact. Acting as a change agent and thought leader, the role will inspire global teams, foster an ambitious and enduring innovation culture, and shape industry standards, all while ensuring disciplined execution and alignment with organizational priorities.
This is a highly visible innovation leadership role requiring strategic vision, technical depth, alliance management, commercial acumen, and the ability to influence across a matrix global organizational. The ideal candidate combines deep technical and market insight with strong business leadership, has significant experience leading large, complex R&D programs, and will enable Cytiva to deliver breakthrough solutions involving multiple business units and Cytiva operating companies that drive customer success and sustainable growth.
This position reports to the Chief Technology Officer and is part of the Chief Technology Organization and will be located onsite in Marlborough, Massachusetts or Uppsala, Sweden.
What you will do:
Shape and execute on a holistic and differentiated strategy grounded in market insight, customer engagement, and commercial impact to accelerate market leadership.
Develop mid and long-term innovation roadmaps that prioritize disruptive go-to market approaches, focus on customer-centric products, identify gaps to facilitate necessary partnerships and ensure measurable outcomes in revenue growth, market share, and pipeline health in partnership with the business units.
Establish and deliver on performance targets through disciplined governance structure, proactive risk management, resource optimization, and budget accountability, balancing speed-to-market with quality and compliance.
Lead and influence cross-functional, global matrix teams towards aggressive execution, foster collaboration, agility, resilience, mentor talent and build high-performing teams while driving adoption of new processes and technologies.
Apply Danaher Business System (DBS) to embed structured problem-solving, continuous learning, and rapid countermeasures, while cultivating an enduring innovation culture across the organization.
Serve as an external thought leader, representing Cytiva at conferences, publishing insights, and influencing industry standards, positioning the company as a recognized authority in Bioprocessing.
Establish strong internal and external relationships, leverage global capabilities, and develop talent and partnerships to enable successful deployment of strategic priorities and long-term success.
Who you are:
Advanced degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field; MBA or equivalent business experience preferred.
15+ years in bioprocessing, life sciences, or related industry, with at least 8 years in senior leadership roles.
Proven track record of developing and executing complex strategies that deliver measurable business impact in ambiguous or changing environments.
Experience leading large-scale innovation programs and cross-functional teams in a global matrix environment.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
Ability to travel 25% globally

The annual salary range for this role is $210,000 - $275,000 USD or 1,200,000 – 1,400,000 SEK. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
