Senior Product Strategist, Education

Job Summary 

The Senior Product Strategist at RethinkEd shapes the vision, roadmap and market strategy for the RethinkEd and Vizzle products that span student wellness, social-emotional-learning, behavior and special education.

This role combines product strategy with deep subject matter expertise. The ideal candidate understands the SEL and overall education market, how schools and districts operate, and how educators, counselors, psychologists, social workers, administrators, and other professionals work together to support students. 

Collaborating within the Product team and with Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success, the Senior Product Strategist will identify market opportunities, guide product direction, and ensure our solutions address meaningful needs for students and the professionals who serve them, using AI tools to speed research and prototyping.

Key Responsibilities 

Product & Market Strategy 

  • Define and drive the vision, strategy, positioning, and roadmap for RethinkEd’s portfolio of products, with an AI-native perspective 

  • Identify market trends, customer needs, competitive opportunities, and areas for growth. 

  • Build business cases grounded in market potential, customer value, measurable outcomes, and business impact. 

  • Partner with sales, marketing, and customer success to inform positioning and go-to-market strategy. 

Domain Expertise & Customer Insights 

  • Deeply understand the roles and workflows of educators, counselors, psychologists, social workers, behavioral specialists, administrators, and district leaders. 

  • Build relationships with school and district leaders, practitioners, researchers, and industry partners. 

  • Use customer feedback, market research, product data, and evidence-based practices to guide product decisions. 

Product Direction & Innovation 

  • Translate market and customer insights into clear product priorities and roadmap recommendations. 

  • Partner with Product Managers, design, and engineering to create solutions that fit real school workflows. 

  • Guide experiences that help school professionals identify student needs, coordinate support, monitor progress, and measure outcomes. 

  • Leverage AI tools to research, prototype, and validate product experiences quickly and responsibly. 

Performance & Growth 

  • Define success measures tied to adoption, customer value, student and educator outcomes, and business growth. 

  • Monitor product and market performance and recommend where to improve, expand, or invest. 

  • Represent the voice of the market and school-based professionals in strategic product decisions. 

  • Contribute to RethinkEd’s thought leadership and visibility in the SEL and mental health community. 

Qualifications 

Required Qualifications 

  • Deep expertise in K–12 education with 7+ years of experience, with focus on student wellness, behavioral health, or student-support systems. 

  • Strong understanding of how schools and districts operate, and how educators, counselors, psychologists, social workers, administrators, and district leaders collaborate to support students. 

  • Experience shaping product, and product strategy in K-12 education technology 

  • Track record of translating market and customer insights into successful products, strategic investments, or measurable growth. 

  • Ability to connect high-level strategy with user needs, school workflows, and practical implementation. 

  • Strong communication, analytical, and cross-functional leadership skills. 

  • Strong knowledge and enthusiasm for AI tools to operate in a fully AI-based development lifecycle, delivering AI-native products 

  • Experience using data, research, and customer feedback, to inform strategy and product direction. 

  • Ability to travel occasionally as needed. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Direct experience working in or closely with schools, districts, or student-support teams. 

  • Experience with MTSS, school-based mental health, universal screening, prevention, intervention, or progress monitoring. 

  • Product strategy or product management experience within an education technology company. 

  • Advanced degree or professional background in education, psychology, counseling, social work, behavioral health, public health, or related field. 

  • Established relationships or recognized expertise within the K–12 SEL, mental health, or education technology community.
