Job Description

We’re looking for a Senior Product Operations Manager to join our growing Product Operations team in London. This role is a unique opportunity to have an impact on Wise’s mission, grow as a product operations leader and empower millions more people with instant, borderless money.

About the role

Product Ops is a relatively small team of specialists at Wise. Their focus is the machine (people & process) which builds our product. We have 120+ autonomous product teams, organised into 27 squads and 5 tribes. Our product teams are cross functional and made up of some of the best engineers, product managers, analysts, designers, data scientists & researchers on the planet!

You will act as the key Product Operations PoC for our Regional Expansion tribe, which is focused on building local payment and regulatory infrastructure to launch Wise products globally. The Tribe adapts global solutions to meet local needs, ensuring compliance and cultural relevance.

In this new role you will be responsible for identifying and delivering on ways to make the tribe as efficient as possible and help us build and scale the best Product team in FinTech. You will own the development of Tribe rhythm, frameworks and ways of working to enable the leads to focus on strategy and delivery. As part of this you’ll work closely with the tribe’s leadership team and with all disciplines within Regional and beyond.

What this will involve:

  • Ensuring alignment with key company-wide processes such as our Central Product Plan, capital allocation reporting, and delivery forecasting.
  • Leading and supporting the execution of tribe-level priorities and special projects, ensuring cross-functional alignment and timely delivery.
  • Acting as a point of contact for tribe-wide initiatives, providing updates on project timelines, progress, and deliverables.

Qualifications

A bit about you:

  • Strong experience leading operational practices in fast growing technology companies where you have worked closely with technical teams.
  • You understand the bigger picture, are analytical, and can quickly assess, break down and prioritise problems / opportunities.
  • Drive the culture agenda and build new ways to help teams connect with our Mission, goals and each other, for example by leaning in on all-hands meetings, events and driving planning communications.
  • Collaborate across the Product community to drive larger areas like new hire onboarding, conferences and hackweeks, as well as identify new areas of opportunities.
  • Craft internal communications / newsletters and help set and align a healthy communications strategy.
  • You have an understanding of what being agile is all about, have a flexible and goal focused approach, and are adaptable to changing business needs.
  • Strong communicator who’s comfortable working with stakeholders in multiple teams and building relationships.
  • You’re comfortable navigating ambiguity and have the ability to exercise sound judgment and decision-making abilities
  • You understand the importance of providing clear rationales for teams and excel in doing so
  • You anticipate roadblocks, are resilient and not easily disheartened.
  • Willing to travel as needed and up to 15% of the time as Wise offices are located across different countries.

Nice to have:

  • Previous experience of financial institutions, financial risk, compliance and/or regulations
  • Previous technical experience and/or experience working in an engineering environment
  • Previous exposure to strategy and/or change management

This role will give you the opportunity to:

  • Choose your path to impact – we believe people are most empowered when they can act autonomously. So rather than telling you what to do, you’ll work with your team to create a vision of your own. Of course, you can always gather feedback from smart, curious people across Wise but you’ll have the freedom to make your own calls
  • Get amazing exposure to product development from customer service, fincrime, regional expansion and new product launches
  • Be part of our mission to make money without borders the new normal

Additional Information

For everyone, everywhere. We're people building money without borders  — without judgement or prejudice, too. We believe teams are strongest when they are diverse, equitable and inclusive.

We're proud to have a truly international team, and we celebrate our differences.
Inclusive teams help us live our values and make sure every Wiser feels respected, empowered to contribute towards our mission and able to progress in their careers.
