What It’s Like to Work at GoGuardian

We are an outcomes-focused learning company with a steadfast focus on improving learning environments, one classroom at a time. Working with us means joining a remote team of diverse, committed, mission-driven employees who are inspired by our vision, dedicated to our customers, and ready to roll up their sleeves. Guardians put their heads together to solve problems, learn together from experiments that fail, and stand together by their work with full accountability. We balance our diligence with an inclusive culture that invites everyone to bring their whole self to work. Join us and learn why “I love the people here” is one of the most frequent comments we hear from Guardians.

The Role

GoGuardian's New Products team operates like a startup inside the company: a small senior team with its own mandate, its own operating space, and a direct line to leadership. In the last four months the team has shipped two new products into real schools, and there is more on the way. We are hiring a Senior Product Manager to help drive this portfolio forward.

You will have a hand in everything the team does: growing the products we have already launched, shaping the ones in flight, and helping validate what comes next. The center of gravity of the role is making products win in the market: growing adoption, running pilots with real schools and districts, turning messy customer signal into a sharp roadmap, and making confident product decisions every day without waiting for permission.

This is a high-autonomy seat. There is no playbook and no process machine; you get a mandate, real data, real customers, and a senior engineering team, and we trust you to make good calls.

What You'll Do

  • Own day-to-day product direction across one or more products, including our recently launched products: roadmap, prioritization, release decisions, and outcomes.
  • Run beta and pilot programs end to end: recruit and manage pilot schools and districts, structure the feedback loops, decide what graduates and what gets cut.
  • Turn usage data, support themes, sales asks, and customer conversations into a ranked, defensible plan. Define the metrics that tell us whether the products are working and instrument what is missing.
  • Ship on a weekly cadence with a senior engineering team and a design partner: crisp written specs and decision memos, fast tradeoff calls, no ceremony for ceremony's sake.
  • Partner with go-to-market at the right gates (pricing tests, messaging validation, launch readiness) once concepts are validated, while protecting early-stage work from premature process.
  • Contribute to discovery and validation of new product opportunities, with room to take on bigger ownership as the portfolio grows.

Who You Are

  • 5+ years as the decision-making product manager on live software products, including at least one product you ran after launch through growth. We will ask, specifically, what you personally decided and what happened.
  • Someone with evidence of independent judgment: you have operated where the process did not do the thinking for you (an early-stage company, an under-resourced team, a carve-out unit), and given data and a roadmap you make good calls without an approval chain.
  • A strong writer. Our process asks you to write because the job does: you can compress a messy situation into two clear pages.
  • Fluent with data. You pull your own numbers, you know what they do and do not say, and you change your mind when they tell you to.
  • Experiment-minded. When the answer is not known, you form a hypothesis, run the smallest test that will settle it, and let the evidence make the call.
  • Comfortable with both ambiguity and cadence: no playbook, weekly shipping rhythm, both at once.
  • Calm, decisive, and opinionated, while remaining deeply evidence-driven.
  • K-12 or education technology experience is a plus, not a requirement. Caring about whether schools are safe and engaging places to learn is a requirement.

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay, complete health insurance, 401(k) matching, and an employee equity plan.
  • Flexible time off, paid holidays, paid parental leave, and a paid year-end holiday break.
  • A robust catalog of benefits that support your professional growth and personal wellbeing, including work from home funds, fertility & adoption reimbursement, and more…

Plus the intangible:

  • A varied and challenging role in an innovative, global company.
  • Supportive, driven colleagues who have your back and share your passion.

The typical base salary range for this position is $170,000-190,000 per year. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire base pay for this position and your pay will be determined by a variety of factors, including your primary work location, skills, qualifications and experience. Additional benefits information is listed on our careers page.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
