The Senior Product Manager will define product vision, drive innovation in AI clinical genetic interpretation, unify teams for product releases, and oversee product health including data privacy and governance.
Who We Are & What We Do
At Helix, our mission is simple: to help everyone improve their lives through their DNA.
Ready to make a real-world impact with your skills? At Helix, we're transforming healthcare by making genomics a standard of care. We partner with health systems and life science companies to accelerate the integration of genomic data into clinical practice. Join us in building a future where healthcare is personalized, proactive, and powered by genomics.
What is special about this role?
At Helix, we’re focused on improving patient lives - and this role sits at the center of that work. You’ll drive tangible improvements in a key area of the business while helping shape new, scalable ways of working in a space ready for innovation. We’re looking for someone who thrives in an AI-native organization and can blend technical depth with sharp organization and project leadership. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver outcomes that matter.
As a Senior Product Manager, you will:
- Define the Vision: Articulate the "why" and "what" behind efficient, AI-enabled clinical genetic interpretation, review, and sign-out, ensuring the team solves high-impact problems before a single line of code is written.
- Accelerate Innovation: Drive the AI-driven "idea-to-prototype" cycle, testing and validating multiple solutions in days, not months.
- Simplify Complexity: Distill nuanced clinical needs into elegant, scalable product requirements while maintaining a relentless focus on priority.
- Balance & Scale: Navigate high-stakes tradeoffs to deliver efficiency and scalability without ever compromising on clinical quality.
- Unify Teams: Act as the bridge between lab directors, scientists, and global engineering teams to ensure seamless product releases.
- Guardian of Trust: Oversee the health of your product area, including data privacy, security, and governance within our AI-driven solutions.
About you:
- Educational Foundation: B.S. or M.S. in Biology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Domain Expertise: Deep experience or knowledge of clinical genomics and variant interpretation; you understand the science behind the software.
- Proven PM Track Record: 3+ years of software product management experience in a biotech laboratory, ideally within a clinical setting.
- AI Fluency: Familiarity with integrating AI/ML models into production workflows—specifically how to leverage LLMs or generative tools to accelerate data interpretation and internal efficiencies.
- Clarity & Collaboration: Exceptional communication skills with a natural ability to translate complex technical/biological nuances into clear, actionable product needs.
- Execution Mindset: Highly organized and reliable. You thrive in ever-changing environments and have the backbone to make high-stakes, risk-based tradeoff decisions.
Pluses:
- CLIA/CAP and/or medical device experience.
- Some familiarity with SQL and relational databases, some simple programming abilities with any language
