Sana’s vision is simple: make healthcare easy.

We all know navigating healthcare in the U.S. is complicated, expensive, and frustrating — and our members are used to feeling that pain. That’s why we’ve reimagined how small and midsize businesses offer health benefits by providing affordable health insurance plans built around our special sauce, Sana Care.

Through Sana Care, members get unlimited access to dedicated primary care and expert care navigation at no additional cost to them. From a quick prescription refill to long-term diabetes management or even guidance and follow-up through emergency neurosurgery, Sana Care has supported members through it all.

But our focus goes beyond just members; we also build intuitive tools that help employers and health insurance brokers manage health benefits for groups with confidence and ease to ensure they are getting great value.

To support these efforts, we’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to catalyze the delivery of convenient, simple, and high-quality tools and experiences across our different product verticals. Reporting to the Head of Product, you’ll collaborate closely with design, engineering, data, product marketing, clinical, operations, and growth partners to shape both our external platforms (for brokers, admins, and members) and internal tools (for clinical and operations teams).

If you thrive in variety, love turning complex challenges (healthcare!) into elegant solutions, and bring initiative, curiosity, and clarity to every collaboration, we’d love to meet you.

What You’ll Do:

  • Drive execution from insight to impact. Translate company-level goals into clear, data-backed roadmaps that tackle the highest-priority problems for the business. At Sana, we value focus, so you’ll concentrate on one or two high-leverage initiatives at a time, defining the metrics that matter and driving measurable outcomes end-to-end.

  • Lead with high impact and high agency, with strong support. You’ll work directly with company leaders and cross-functional partners to align on priorities, influence how the team works and builds, and surface insights that shape what comes next. You might pivot between product areas over time — for example, leading core improvements for brokers before turning to internal tools for clinicians. This is a high-trust environment with strong systems for collaboration, giving you both autonomy and guidance to move quickly and deliver meaningful impact.

  • Own metrics and iteration. Establish baselines, track engagement and adoption, and use insights to recommend next experiments.

  • Stay close to users and teammates. Shadow internal teams and meet directly with members, admins, and brokers to uncover needs, validate ideas, and refine solutions. Leverage quantitative and qualitative data and all feedback available.

  • Use AI as a thinking partner. You get creative with prompts to bring the best out of tools—prototyping and validating ideas quickly to build shared understanding. You use AI to visualize and communicate concepts clearly, focusing on intent and user value to align teams efficiently.

  • Create clarity and alignment. Frame problems with data, articulate tradeoffs, and make scope visible so collaborators understand the “why,” not just the “what.” Keep teams anchored on value, spot scope creep early, and facilitate crisp pre-reads and decision reviews that close loops quickly. Translate that clarity into action by owning prioritization, ticket creation, and sprint planning. Ensure design and engineering have full context, well-defined requirements, and ROI guardrails so every cycle moves the product meaningfully forward.

  • Prepare for launch and adoption. Lead internal demos, training, and documentation so stakeholders and Product Marketing are ready for go-to-market.

  • Model Sana's Values. Ship It, Be Curious, Embrace Change, Take Ownership. You’ll be biased for progress, stay curious, adapt quickly, and bring clarity wherever you go.

About You:

  • 5+ years of relevant product management experience with prior start-up experience (especially in healthtech, insurtech, or other regulated spaces) a plus

  • You think strategically and deliver measurable impact. You connect company vision to product outcomes, defining the levers that move both user value and business goals.

  • You learn by shipping. You move from concept to test quickly, measure results, and use insights to refine direction. You leverage AI to prototype faster and define MVPs that prioritize learning over perfection. You know progress comes from real-world feedback, not theory.

  • You lead with ownership and have a bias for action. You clarify goals, align stakeholders, and ensure follow-through. You don’t let batons drop in hand-offs because you know your work has real impact on thousands of people’s health and finances.

  • You create clarity in motion. You frame problems with data, define success, and keep teams focused on what matters most. Your writing, briefs, and consistent progress updates to your collaborators make complexity simple and decisions actionable.

  • You’re collaborative and low-ego. You build trust across teams, knowing Product’s role is to surface insights, align context, and shepherd the best ideas forward — not just your own. You invite feedback early and often because you know great products are built together.

  • You’re an advocate for users. You pair strong product taste with humility. You know what a fantastic experience looks like — from infrastructure to UX — but you validate through data and research, letting evidence guide the final call.

Benefits:

  • Remote company with a fully distributed team – no return-to-office mandates
  • Flexible vacation policy (and a culture of using it)
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance with 100% company paid employee coverage
  • 401(k), FSA, and HSA plans
  • Paid parental leave
  • Short and long term disability as well as life insurance
  • Competitive stock options offered to all employees
  • Transparent compensation & formal career development programs
  • Paid one-month sabbatical after 5 years
  • Stipends for setting up your home office and an ongoing learning budget
  • Direct positive impact on members’ lives – wait until you see the positive feedback members share every day

About Sana

Founded in 2017, Sana is a health plan solution built for small and midsize businesses — designed around our integrated primary care service, Sana Care. It’s the foundation of everything we build: ensuring members can easily access high-quality, affordable care while employers and brokers have the tools they need to manage company benefits with confidence.

We’ve been remote-first since day one, with a fully distributed team across the U.S. We value curiosity, ownership, and speed — and we build in the open, together. If you’re energized by solving complex, meaningful problems and want to help reshape how healthcare works from the inside out, we’d love to meet you.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
