Where we work

Udemy is a global company headquartered in San Francisco, with additional U.S. offices in Denver and Austin, and international hubs in Australia, India, Ireland, Mexico, and Türkiye. This is an in-office position, requiring three days a week in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and flexibility on Mondays and Fridays.

About the role

We’re seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager to lead our Marketing Technology (MarTech) strategy and help scale how we engage millions of learners and instructors worldwide. In this pivotal role, you’ll own the vision, roadmap, and execution for our MarTech platforms, enabling our marketing and growth teams to acquire and retain customers and deliver personalized and timely communications at scale.

You’ll work cross-functionally with Engineering, Marketing, Data Science, and Design to optimize our marketing infrastructure and unlock new ways to acquire, engage, and retain users. If you’re passionate about building modern marketing platforms, data-informed decision making, and helping people change their lives through learning, we’d love to meet you.

What you'll be doing

  • Define and own the product strategy, roadmap, and KPIs for our MarTech capabilities.
  • Lead the development and enhancement of marketing and customer communication platforms used by our consumer and enterprise marketing teams across email, push, sms, landing pages, and automated campaign systems.
  • Partner with Marketing and Engineering to design and implement tools and data pipelines that increase campaign effectiveness and operational velocity.
  • Oversee the integration and evolution of our Customer Data Platform, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility for key stakeholders.
  • Continuously evaluate our marketing stack, identify opportunities to optimize performance, and enable innovative marketing strategies.
  • Balance short-term wins with long-term, scalable investments to drive growth.
  • Champion a test-and-learn culture of fast iteration and ongoing optimization.
  • Act as the product expert for all things marketing technology at Udemy.

What you’ll have

While this work is based more on the skills a person has than what they have done, we think a typical profile could include the following:

  • 5+ years of product management experience, preferably with internal platforms or marketing technology tools.
  • Experience building products that allow marketers to use data to better reach prospects and customers through paid, organic, and lifecycle marketing.
  • Proven success improving marketing workflows and driving marketing velocity and quality.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Braze, HighTouch, Contentful, Gainsight, or similar platforms.
  • Strong ability to translate insights into product ideas and drive execution toward measurable outcomes.
  • Exceptional collaboration skills; comfortable partnering closely with Marketing and Engineering while balancing competing priorities.
  • A hypothesis-driven mindset and the ability to move seamlessly between strategic thinking and hands-on delivery.

At Udemy, we strive to be transparent around compensation. Actual compensation for this role is based on several factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, qualifications, experience, and specific work location due to differences in the cost of labor. In addition to a base salary, this role is also eligible for equity.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
