As the Senior Product Manager, Search & Recommendations at Wayfair, you will lead a team responsible for developing the machine learning models and core platforms that power our product search and recommendations engine. This critical role is responsible for developing and executing strategies to optimize the ranking of product results across search and browse experiences on Wayfair, directly impacting millions of customer shopping journeys each day. You will collaborate closely with engineers, machine learning scientists, and analysts to deliver innovative ranking solutions—leveraging contextual signals, aligning with strategic business goals, and enabling model exploration.

What You’ll Do

  • Define product vision and strategy: Develop and champion a long-term product vision for product ranking on Search & Browse experiences, aligning it with overall company goals and customer needs.
  • Roadmap development and execution: Create and prioritize a product roadmap, balancing short-term wins with long-term strategic objectives. Manage the entire product lifecycle from ideation to launch and beyond.
  • Data analysis and interpretation: Leverage data and analytics to identify opportunities for improvement, track product performance, and measure the impact of product changes.
  • Collaboration and cross-functional leadership: Work closely with engineering, machine learning science, analytics, customer experience, and other teams to ensure seamless product development and execution. Influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders across the organization.
  • Machine Learning model management: Work closely with data scientists to define requirements, evaluate performance, and manage the lifecycle of machine learning models that underpin the search experience.
  • Backend platform management: Oversee the development and maintenance of the backend platforms and services that support the on-site search and browse experience, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Continuous learning: Continuously research and evaluate emerging technologies and trends in search and relevance to identify opportunities for innovation.

We’re A Match Because You Have:

  • 6+ years of experience in product management, preferably with a focus on search, recommendations, and/or e-commerce capabilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent of education and experience. 
  • Proven experience working with machine learning models and ML science teams.
  • Proven experience managing backend platform development with software engineering teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and concise business requirements.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with A/B testing and other experimentation methodologies.
  • Experience working with agile development methodologies.
