The Role:
The Products team seeks an enthusiastic, results-driven Senior Product Manager, Public/Private Convergence to drive the product strategy and commercial success of our initiatives focused on bridging public and private investments. This leader will be responsible for setting and executing the strategy for all Direct-related products to unlock new opportunities, and meet existing customers' evolving needs defining the roadmap, partnerships, and innovations needed to deliver integrated investment solutions across the full spectrum of asset classes.
To foster continuous collaboration, we follow a hybrid policy which entails of a minimum of 3 days onsite per week in our Chicago office.
Responsibilities:
  • Set and lead the strategy for public and private market convergence in Direct products, defining the roadmap, partnerships, and innovations needed to deliver integrated investment solutions across the full spectrum of asset classes.
  • Drive commercial success by aligning product initiatives with client needs, identifying new market opportunities, and collaborating closely with Sales, Technology, and Product teams to execute the go-to-market plan and Data, Analytics and Research teams to align required content and inputs.
  • Leverage expertise in private investments to inform product design, with a deep understanding of how private investments differ from public investments in structure, operations, and client application and impact on portfolio construction
  • Develop product capabilities informed by investor workflows, incorporating knowledge of how investors select, allocate, and monitor private investments and how private investments fit into a multi-asset class portfolio to create seamless, end-to-end solutions.
  • Maintain competitive intelligence on the evolving landscape of solutions targeting multi-asset portfolios with private investment components, using this insight to refine product positioning and drive market differentiation.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in product management and/or data operations.
  • Experience with analyzing portfolios that have allocations to private investments and an understanding of the type of analytics needed to perform a comprehensive review.
  • Experience with private investments and in particular the mechanics of how private investments differ from public investments.
  • Knowledge of the existing workflow for investors who currently invest in private investments from investment selection to investment monitoring.
  • Knowledge of competitors who are targeting solutions built for multi asset portfolio containing private investments.
  • Strong oral and written communication, planning, and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across teams, functions, and product lines.
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, with strong prioritization abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, passion for innovation, and alignment with Morningstar's core values.

Total Compensation Range:
$117,850-281,425
Inclusive of annual base salary and target incentive
