Position Description

The Senior Product Manager will play a key role in enhancing and managing our new B2B Embedded Payments product. This is a high-visibility role with the opportunity to interact with external partners and internal business development leaders, lead new initiatives, and provide general thought leadership within the Product Management team. The ideal candidate will have: strong client-facing interpersonal skills to discover and evaluate business needs; a deep understanding of B2B payment ecosystem, API-based products/services, and AP/AR business processes; and strong leadership skills to drive cross-functional teams towards shared vision and goals.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Key Initiatives

  • Define and execute the product strategy for the B2B payments platform, with a focus on API integration, security, scalability, and user experience.

  • Create product solutions based on opportunities prioritized by the Product Advisory Council; ensure solutions are aligned with business objectives, market trends, and customer needs.

  • Lead market research, competitive analysis, and customer feedback to inform product decisions and identify new opportunities for growth.

Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (engineering, sales, customer success, marketing, etc.) to define and prioritize product requirements.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for external partners and customers, ensuring their needs are addressed and incorporated into the product vision.

  • Communicate product vision, progress, and challenges clearly to executive leadership and other stakeholders.

Product Development & Execution

  • Own the end-to-end product lifecycle, from ideation and concept development to product launch and post-launch improvements.

  • Work closely with Product Owner and engineering teams to ensure technical feasibility, resource allocation, and timely delivery of product features.

  • Ensure the product adheres to industry regulations, compliance standards, and security protocols.

 API Management

  • Design and manage robust, scalable, and developer-friendly APIs that enable seamless integration with customers’ systems.

  • Monitor API performance, usability, and security, continuously improving the developer experience and reducing time-to-market for integrations.

  • Foster an ecosystem of third-party developers and partners by creating clear API documentation, SDKs, and support resources.

Metrics & Performance

  • Define, track, and analyze key product metrics, including API usage, transaction volumes, customer satisfaction, and product profitability.

  • Use data-driven insights to identify areas for improvement, refine product offerings, and make informed decisions about product direction.

Requirements:

Experience

  • 7+ years of product management experience, with at least 3 years in payments, fintech, or API-driven products.

  • Proven track record of managing complex B2B products, particularly within financial services, payments, or enterprise software.

  • Experience with API design, management, and developer ecosystems.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of card payment processing, ACH, B2B virtual card payments, wire transfers, and other B2B payment methods.

  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and cloud-based solutions.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to derive insights from data and make data-driven decisions.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in working with B2B platforms, ERP integrations, or SaaS products.

  • Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements in the payments space (e.g., PCI-DSS, PSD2).

  • Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies and product management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, etc.).
