Role Overview

As a Senior Product Manager I, you drive product strategy and execution for AI-powered experiences that help home service professionals run better businesses. You identify high-value Pro workflows, translate them into useful AI product experiences, and deliver measurable customer and business impact.

You partner with Engineering, Design, Product Marketing, Strategy, Operations, Data, and AI platform partners to shape the vision and roadmap for Applied AI at HCP. You own customer problems from discovery through launch and iteration, applying strong judgment to determine when AI should assist, recommend, draft, automate, or stay out of the way.

You bring deep customer empathy, analytical rigor, technical curiosity, and strong design instincts to products where model behavior, context, quality, and trust directly shape the user experience. You use customer feedback, business inputs, product data, and AI system performance to make high-impact product decisions and continuously improve outcomes for our Pros.

Our team is passionate, empathetic, hard working, and above all else focused on improving the lives of our service professionals (our Pros). Our success is their success.

What you do each day:

  • Define product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Applied AI experiences by aligning market opportunities, business goals, Pro needs, and emerging AI capabilities
  • Deeply understand Pro workflows including booking, scheduling, dispatching, customer communication, estimates, payments, follow-up, team coordination, coaching, and business insights to identify where AI creates meaningful leverage
  • Conduct market research, analyze competitive trends, synthesize customer feedback, and translate ambiguous customer problems into clear product requirements, prototypes, evaluation plans, and production-ready experiences
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Design, Product Marketing, Data, Strategy, Operations, and AI platform partners to validate solutions, influence cross-functional priorities, and drive product and commercial outcomes
  • Partner with technical teams to shape model behavior, context, retrieval, tool use, data quality, reliability, latency, cost, safety, and system constraints while making practical tradeoffs that maintain delivery momentum
  • Guide user flows, interaction patterns, and wireframes for AI-powered experiences, including moments where Pros need transparency, control, confirmation, or an easy way to correct the system
  • Lead roadmap development, backlog prioritization, sprint planning, and product execution across distributed teams while resolving friction points and maintaining alignment around the highest-impact opportunities
  • Establish key performance indicators, adoption metrics, evaluation frameworks, quality measures, and reporting systems that measure product health, customer trust, system performance, and business impact
  • Drive coordinated feature launches with Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Support, and Operations, then monitor adoption and use qualitative and quantitative feedback to continuously improve the product
  • Build feedback loops across product analytics, customer conversations, explicit user feedback, support and sales signals, and system performance data to accelerate learning and improve AI experiences over time

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of product management experience, including a proven track record of leading high-impact product initiatives from concept through launch and iteration
  • Experience building AI-powered products, automation, assistants, copilots, agents, search, recommendation systems, workflow software, or other technically complex products
  • Technical fluency with AI product concepts including large language model capabilities and constraints, model behavior, retrieval, tool use, evaluation, reliability, latency, cost, and safety
  • Experience defining product metrics, evaluations, quality measures, adoption funnels, and feedback loops for products where success depends on both user behavior and system performance
  • Expertise in agile development, product strategy, product lifecycle management, user experience principles, and product analytics
  • Experience with product analytics and growth stack tools (i.e. Amplitude, Segment, Braze, LaunchDarkly...)
  • Proven experience driving team efficiency or output quality through the strategic use of AI tools and automation
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience

What will help you succeed:

  • A multi-dimensional background with a breadth of cross-functional interests or depth of specialized mastery
  • Personal resilience to learn from scratch, and successfully thrive in ambiguity
  • Deep customer obsession and motivation to understand the practical realities of helping Pros save time, grow profitably, and deliver excellent service
  • Strong product and design judgment that makes powerful technology feel simple, useful, trustworthy, and respectful of the user’s workflow
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills within a metrics-driven, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to operate effectively at strategic and tactical levels, moving fluidly from product vision and portfolio priorities to requirements, prototype feedback, launch readiness, and post-launch iteration
  • Clear communication with technical and non-technical audiences that creates alignment across Engineering, Design, Data, Go-to-Market, Operations, and leadership
  • Hands-on curiosity with AI tools and emerging capabilities while remaining grounded in customer outcomes rather than novelty

  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
