Job DescriptionThe Senior Product Manager, Earbuds Category will be a customer-centric and product-loving business leader who will take Bose’s Premium multi-product category of earbuds to new heights. This product leader will be focused on defining and leading our future earbuds strategy and roadmap, in close collaboration with designers, insights, research, engineering, marketing, supply chain, and sales to drive growth and contribution margin – from inception of new ideas through end-of-life products.
Responsibilities
- Define and champion a winning earbuds category strategy that delivers market-leading customer value along with strategic portfolio value;
- Drive Category P&L success (category revenue and contribution margin), developing and leading the execution of multiple programs that meet financial targets.
- Lead cross-functional teams through the design, development and execution of multiple product lines that meets consumer needs and delivers on brand
- Manage overall portfolio, product lifecycles, and pricing strategies for the earbuds category
- Leverage customer insights, usability studies, market trends, and competitive analysis to develop the vision, product roadmap & product definitions
- Collaborate with design, engineering, marketing, supply chain, and sales to identify creative solutions to difficult challenges and to reach the balance between the vision of the user experience with time to market and product cost
Qualifications
- Customer obsession: enthusiasm for getting in the weeds on the customer’s behalf, bringing a clear understanding of their priorities to every product decision.
- A strong sense of ownership and pride in your products.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A talent for making complex things simple.
- An ability to lead through influence more than authority: exceptional interpersonal skills and positivity under pressure.
- Data-driven decisiveness: knowing when to make a call and when to get more information.
- Independent thinking and great judgment with a track record of being right – and willingness to be wrong. Neither conformist nor contrarian.
- Poise and confidence in public speaking; ability to represent the brand well in product demos to retail buyers and press.
- Self-motivated and self-directed. Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
- At least 5 years’ experience, including two or more of the following:
- MBA or advanced degree relevant to product development, engineering, or customer research
- Direct experience as a product manager or a customer-centric technical leader
- Experience in management consulting or a similarly rigorous strategic environment
- Consumer electronics expertise including hardware launch
