At NerdWallet, we’re on a mission to bring clarity to all of life’s financial decisions and every great mission needs a team of exceptional Nerds. We’ve built an inclusive, flexible, and candid culture where you’re empowered to grow, take smart risks, and be unapologetically yourself (cape optional). Whether remote or in-office, we support how you thrive best. We invest in your well-being, development, and ability to make an impact because when one Nerd levels up, we all do.

As a Senior Product Manager (Credit Cards), you’ll own and evolve digital experiences that help consumers shop for, compare, and choose the right credit card for their needs. You’ll have the opportunity to shape high-impact surfaces and tools used by millions of consumers to make better financial decisions, while directly contributing to NerdWallet’s business goals.

This role blends product strategy with hands-on execution. You’ll identify consumer needs and opportunities, turn insights into product solutions, and partner across data, engineering, design, content, and marketing to bring those experiences to life. You’ll work closely with Performance Marketing to create and optimize paid-channel experiences, while also supporting our organic experiences and the tools that surface relevant credit card offers.

We’re also looking for a product builder who embraces new ways of working. You’ll use AI as part of your day-to-day product development process to accelerate discovery, analysis, prototyping, validation, and delivery. You’ll have room to experiment, create new experiences, and turn effective workflows into reusable tools that help the broader team move faster and increase its impact.

This role will report to the Director Product Management for the Cards and Wealth teams.

Where you can make an impact:
  • Own the product roadmap. Develop and evolve the roadmap for NerdWallet’s paid and organic credit card experiences, connecting product priorities to consumer needs and company goals.

  • Build experiences that help consumers make confident decisions. Use market insights, competitive research, and an understanding of consumers’ financial behaviors, goals, and challenges to identify opportunities and solve meaningful problems.

  • Drive paid-channel performance. Partner closely with Performance Marketing to design, test, and refine experiences for consumers arriving through paid channels, balancing business performance with a seamless consumer journey.

  • Turn insights into measurable outcomes. Define and monitor key product metrics and use experimentation, including A/B testing, to improve engagement, conversion, and overall product performance.

  • Create and ship with AI. Use AI tools to accelerate your day-to-day work, build working prototypes, validate ideas, and ship solutions. Turn successful approaches into reusable tools that can scale impact across the team.

  • Lead through collaboration. Work closely with engineering, design, data, content, and marketing partners to move from strategy to execution and deliver product enhancements and new experiences.

  • Support organic experiences. Partner with content and SEO teams to improve the experiences and components that help consumers discover and evaluate relevant credit card offers.

  • Build strong product integrations. Collaborate with external partners to develop integrations that enhance our consumer experiences and functionality.

  • Advocate for the consumer. Keep consumers and their needs at the center of product decisions while balancing customer outcomes with business objectives.

  • Help the team grow. Support and mentor team members and contribute to a collaborative culture of learning and continuous improvement.

Your experience:
  • 5+ years in product management, preferably within fintech, consumer finance, or related domain.

  • A track record of owning, launching, and improving consumer product experiences with measurable impact.

  • Experience leading consumer product experiences that grow through SEO and paid marketing channels, with accountability for performance metrics such as conversion rate, cost per acquisition, or ROAS.

  • Experience influencing cross-functional teams and driving outcomes without direct authority.

  • A hands-on approach to AI, using AI tools as part of your regular product workflow to accelerate research, analysis, documentation, prototyping, or delivery.

  • Experience building and shipping working prototypes or tools yourself using modern AI tools, including agentic coding assistants or rapid prototyping platforms, and turning effective workflows into reusable solutions others can adopt.

  • Strong analytical skills and experience using data to inform product decisions, including familiarity with A/B testing and user research.

  • Comfort partnering with engineering teams and working with API integrations and technical workflows.

  • A customer-focused approach and commitment to creating useful, intuitive product experiences.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical partners.

Where:
  • This is a remote position and a person can be located anywhere in Canada (with the exception of Quebec).

  • NerdWallet is proud to be a remote-first company! We believe great work can be done anywhere. No matter where you are based, NerdWallet offers benefits and perks to support the physical, financial, and emotional well being of you and your family.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
