Role Description

As a Senior Product Manager in the Communications Platform, you will enable teams across Dropbox to deliver impactful in-app campaigns, emails, and notifications that drive revenue, engagement, and user satisfaction. You will shape the roadmap for a platform that supports all lines of business—including our core products, standalone offerings, and AI-first initiatives like Dash—balancing innovation and foundational improvements to scale tools used to reach hundreds of millions of users.

In this role, you’ll identify opportunities to enhance platform functionality, measure the effectiveness of campaigns, and prioritize features that empower teams to execute data-driven strategies. By evaluating current tools and addressing gaps, you’ll deliver a scalable, reliable, and business-critical platform. This is a high-impact opportunity to collaborate with senior leaders, work cross-functionally across business units, and drive meaningful outcomes for Dropbox and its users.

Responsibilities

  • Advocate for the customer by deeply understanding their needs, providing context and empathy, and focusing on solving their underlying problems rather than just delivering features.
  • Define clear and actionable product specifications, making thoughtful decisions rooted in customer insights, data, and company strategy.
  • Lead and guide product direction for a cross-functional team of engineering, design, analytics, marketers, and platform partners.
  • Collaborate effectively with client teams, influencing cross-team priorities, managing risks and trade-offs, and aligning stakeholders with clear and concise communication.
  • Leverage data to make informed decisions, defining success metrics upfront, tracking KPIs obsessively, and allocating resources effectively to meet goals.
  • Proactively manage risks and remove roadblocks, enabling the team to execute efficiently and achieve objectives.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management experience, with a track record of leading platform product areas and delivering impactful outcomes in B2B or consumer tech.
  • Strong growth mindset with a passion for making product changes that drive conversion, business impact, and customer delight.
  • Proven experience in iterative, data-driven product development, with the ability to design, run, and interpret experiments and A/B tests.
  • Deep empathy for consumer and business users, with a focus on building products that inspire joy, trust, and satisfaction.
  • Thrives in fast-paced environments, adapting quickly while deeply understanding products, measuring success, and optimizing every step of the user funnel.
  • Skilled at building consensus and driving decisions, balancing collaboration and urgency. You take ownership, share credit, and inspire others to do their best work.
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to convey clarity, salience, and urgency to teams, partners, and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with email and engagement platforms, with a strong understanding of their tools and capabilities.
Prior experience with SaaS companies, including their complexities, scale, and foundational technologies.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
