About Nava

Nava is on a mission to #fixhealthcare. 160M Americans rely on their employer for healthcare — yet the system is broken, bloated, and run by incumbents who resist change. Nava fuses benefits expertise with cutting-edge tech to give employers and employees a modern, transparent, and affordable healthcare experience. In a $50B industry hungry for change, Nava is the company built to win.

Why This Role Matters

We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to own the user experience of Nava’s product suite. This isn’t just another design job. Nava has gone from zero to one, and now we’re building AI-first, AI-native experiences that redefine how people access and understand their healthcare. We work smarter with leading-edge tools and radical collaboration — so we don’t need a large design team. That means you’ll be one of the few with real ownership, impact, and acclaim. You’ll shape our platform, our craft, and our experience for thousands of employers and millions of employees.

Nava is fully remote, but it’s a plus if you’re local to NYC and able to join our PED team for coworking opportunities on occasion.
What You’ll Do
  • Own design for a core product area from discovery through delivery.
  • Design AI-first experiences that feel intuitive, human, and powerful.
  • Partner with PMs, engineers, and benefits experts to simplify complex healthcare problems.
  • Translate research into flows, interfaces, and patterns that scale across web + mobile.
  • Advance our design system with coherent, aesthetic, and usable patterns.
  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate research, exploration, iteration, and production.
  • Contribute to a culture of user advocacy, thoughtful craft, and continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For
  • Senior-level designer with experience owning end-to-end product design.
  • Strong in research, synthesis, and storytelling.
  • Skilled in interaction design, visual systems, and prototyping.
  • AI-forward mindset, already experimenting with new tools and eager to design AI-native experiences.
  • Brings taste and craft to details that make an experience exceptional.
  • Scrappy, creative, and energized by ownership.
  • Collaborative and open, with a drive to make healthcare better for real people.
What You’ll Get
  • A rare chance to shape the future of healthcare with a mission-driven, high-growth company.
  • A tight, ambitious team where your work is celebrated and felt immediately.
  • The freedom and tools to do the best work of your career.
Benefits:
  • Health & Wellness: Medical insurance, including a $0 premium HDHP plan for individuals, Dental, Vision, Telehealth and Virtual Primary Care Visits, OneMedical membership, Wellhub, and a $50 monthly benefit to improve your mental or physical health.
  • Financial Support: Stock options, 401(k) with a $2,000 match, FSA, HSA, and access to Origin Financial.
  • Work-Life: Flexible PTO, 12 weeks of paid parental leave with 2 weeks of transition time, $50 monthly connectivity reimbursement, and company-paid short-term disability, long-term disability, and life insurance, with additional voluntary benefits like supplemental life, AD&D, hospital indemnity, accident, and critical illness coverage.
  • Professional Support: $1,000 home office setup stipend and access to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

We believe solving healthcare requires embracing America’s diversity. Nava is committed to an equitable, inclusive workplace and welcomes applicants from all backgrounds. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. full-time without sponsorship. We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer who embodies our values: Own the Outcome, Be a Great Co-pilot, Drive Progress Through Action, and Create Super Fans.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
