At Underdog, we make sports more fun.

Our thesis is simple: build the best product for sports fans and we will win the space. Founded in 2020, we're one of the fastest-growing sports companies ever, and there’s still so much left to do. We've built and scaled products across fantasy sports, sports betting, and prediction markets, all united in one app that’s seamless, intuitive, and actually fun to use.

Underdog isn’t for everyone. One of our core values is give a sh*t. The people who win here are the ones who care, push, and perform. We’re remote-first by design, but highly collaborative with regular in-person gatherings that help teams build, iterate, and move fast together.

Got that dog in you? Join us.

After all, winning as an Underdog is more fun.

What you'll do:

As a Senior Product Designer at Underdog, you’ll lead the design of experiences across Growth and Promotions, creating products that give customers more reasons to play, return, and share. You’ll help evolve promotions from one-off campaigns into rewarding product experiences, while building growth loops across referrals, community, communication, and product discovery. Your work will be critical in making Underdog feel more engaging, generous, and connected across the customer journey.

  • Own the experience. Own end-to-end design across these product areas, from early strategy and exploration through launch and iteration.
  • Make complexity feel simple. Turn complex growth and rewards mechanics into intuitive experiences that customers understand and want to engage with.
  • Build better together. Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Data, and Marketing to identify opportunities and turn strategy into high-quality product experiences.
  • Connect brand and product. Collaborate with Promo Ops and Creative Marketing to translate external marketing campaigns into cohesive, optimized in-product experiences that maintain visual consistency.
  • Let insights lead. Use customer insights and data to drive decisions, balancing experimentation and speed with thoughtful product thinking and craft.
  • Raise the quality bar. Bring strong interaction design, visual execution, prototyping, and attention to detail to everything you ship.
  • Think beyond the roadmap. Bring a strong product point of view, identifying opportunities beyond the immediate roadmap and helping shape what we build next.
Who you are:
  • You have 5+ years of experience in product design, with a portfolio demonstrating strong process and execution across consumer-facing mobile products.
  • You leverage AI as a core part of your design toolkit to accelerate exploration, prototyping, and execution.
  • You’re excited to flex your visual and graphic design skills, translating external marketing campaigns into cohesive, high-quality in-product experiences.
  • You’re a high-frequency problem-solver who can take a solution from concept to execution and clearly communicate your thinking to stakeholders.
Bonus points if you have:
  • Experience in visual design and/or art direction
  • Experience in consumer fintech, predictions and/or sports betting products

Our target starting base salary range for this position is between $150,000 and $190,000, plus target equity. Final compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, skills and expertise, interview performance, and other market considerations.

What we can offer you:
  • Unlimited PTO for full-time employees (we're extremely flexible with the exception of the first few weeks before and into the NFL season)
  • 16 weeks of fully paid parental leave
  • Home office stipend
  • A virtual-first culture, but we come together a few times per year in person for offsites, trainings, hackathons, and more
  • Slack reactions for every occasion
  • 401k with up to 5% employer match
  • Company paid health, dental, vision plan options for employees and dependents, FSA, and more
  • Opportunity to celebrate your favorite sports teams through local meetups and company-sponsored events
  • Claude and ChatGPT enterprise accounts

Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
