We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer specializing in Design Systems to scale and evolve our design system across the Order.co platform and explore how AI can improve design-to-development workflows.
You’ll partner closely with Product Design, Engineering, and Product Management to modernize legacy experiences, develop reusable patterns, and make the system easier to discover, adopt, and contribute to. This role is ideal for a systems-minded designer who combines strong strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
What You’ll Do- Scale and evolve the design system, with a focus on high-traffic legacy experiences.
- Audit existing experiences to identify component gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for consolidation.
- Partner with engineers to create scalable, accessible, and production-ready components.
- Champion usability, accessibility, consistency, and quality across the product.
- Establish and communicate design system principles and decisions across the organization.
- Explore AI-enabled workflows for component discovery, documentation, quality checks, and pattern generation.
- Reduce duplication and improve efficiency across design and engineering.
- Measure and improve system adoption, usability, and effectiveness.
- 4–7 years of product design experience, including significant design system experience.
- Proven experience building, scaling, or evolving a design system.
- Strong expertise in component-based design and reusable interaction patterns.
- Advanced Figma skills and familiarity with modern design system workflows.
- Strong understanding of how design systems translate into production code.
- Experience partnering closely with engineers and navigating tradeoffs between flexibility, consistency, and scalability.
- Hands-on experience with AI tools and curiosity about their application to design systems.
- Excellent visual, interaction, communication, and systems-thinking skills.
- Curiosity about AI and its impact on product design and design systems, with hands-on experience using AI tools
- A portfolio demonstrating meaningful design system work.
- Fintech and/or ecommerce experience is a plus.
This role begins as a 6-month contract, with the intention to convert to full-time based on mutual fit and business needs. You’ll have the opportunity to shape the foundation of our product experience and become a key partner to the Product Design and Engineering teams.
Rate: $95/hr
