At WHOOP, we're on a mission to unlock human performance. WHOOP empowers members to perform at a higher level through a deeper understanding of their bodies and daily lives. Our wearable technology and analytics platform help individuals optimize recovery, training, and overall health.
WHOOP is seeking a Senior Product Designer to lead the evolution of our cross-platform design system and help craft intuitive, engaging experiences across both native mobile and web. This role requires a rare blend of structured thinking and adaptability: you'll bring clarity, scalability, and consistency to our design foundations while staying flexible in a fast-paced environment. - Advocate for the design system’s vision and adoption across the organization, partnering with other designers, engineers, and product managers to define governance processes and drive alignment.
- Work closely with a team of designers who contribute to both conceptual design work and the creation of high-fidelity components, ensuring cohesive patterns and shared ownership.
- Partner with engineering and architecture teams to align the system with evolving requirements and deliver seamless implementation workflows across platforms.
- Co-own the design, documentation, and maintenance of visually consistent, accessible components in Figma, supporting translation into scalable, reusable code for mobile and web.
- Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions, ensuring our experiences are intuitive and impactful for a wide range of members.
- Promote inclusive design practices and ensure all components meet or exceed accessibility standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in product design, with a strong portfolio showcasing work on both native mobile and web applications, including design system development.
- Extremely high level of proficiency in design tools and methodologies, including but not limited to Figma, wireframing, workflow diagramming, and prototyping.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, scale, and manage design systems, balancing structure with adaptability to support a fast-evolving environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with an ability to "read the room" and flex your approach to foster alignment across teams.
- Deep understanding of accessibility standards and best practices in inclusive design.
- Familiarity with front-end development principles and experience partnering closely with engineering teams to bring designs to life.
- Expertise in leveraging AI tools to accelerate and enhance design workflows, with a demonstrated ability to upskill and elevate teammates' capabilities through AI-driven best practices.
- Strong commitment to embracing and leveraging AI tools in day-to-day tasks, ensuring AI-assisted work aligns with the same high-quality standards as personal contributions.
