The Opportunity

Android is where some of the most interesting product design problems in mobile AI live right now. We’re looking for a dedicated designer who can truly own it, and leverage all that the platform has to offer. Android provides deeper OS integration and a unique floating bubble app, which provides a lot more opportunity for proactive assistance, so we want someone to drive that to its full potential.
You'll be the dedicated product designer on Android. You'll set the interaction model, the craft bar, and the design foundation the whole platform is built on for years to come.

This role is about shaping the Superhuman platform on Android. Today, that means evolving the Grammarly floating assistant that millions of people already use on their phones. The bigger work ahead is bringing Superhuman Go, our proactive AI agent, to Android with full native ambition, and pulling the rest of the Superhuman suite onto mobile alongside it.

In This Role, You Will
  • Set the design vision for Superhuman on Android. Define how a multi-product AI platform shows up coherently on the phone. Decide what users experience as one Superhuman, what stays distinct, and how the pieces fit together as more products move onto Android over time.

  • Design Go on Android. Go is our proactive AI agent, the layer that turns intent into progress across reading, writing, and communication. Shape how Go feels native to Android, where the OS lets us reach further than we can elsewhere: ambient assistance, deeper system integrations, hands-free voice flows, and proactive nudges that feel earned.

  • Evolve the Grammarly Android experience. Lead the next chapter of the floating writing assistant that brings real-time grammar, rewrites, translations, and tone help into any app on the phone. Sharpen the visual hierarchy, rebuild patterns for feature discoverability, and set the bar for an overlay app that people want to live with.

  • Help define the future input experience. Voice input is rolling out across the company, and agentic capabilities are reshaping how people write on mobile. Design how voice, agents, and the overlay come together into one coherent experience.

  • Establish the Android design foundation. Build the patterns, components, and onboarding framework that let Android ship faster. Decide what gets unified across platforms and what stays platform-specific.

  • Hold the craft line. Stay close to engineers, prototype the messy parts, and iterate until the product feels right with real text running through real models.

Qualifications
  • Senior-Level product design experience, with a portfolio that shows shipped Android work and a clear point of view on Material Design, overlays, accessibility services, and the spatial constraints of mobile.

  • Demonstrated craft across interaction, visual, and motion design. We care more about the polish, judgment, and ideas in your work than the company logos on your resume.

  • Experience designing AI-native or agent-driven products, or a strong appetite for it. Bonus if you've shipped features where model behavior, latency, or uncertainty were first-class design problems.

  • Fluency in prototyping as a way of thinking. Comfortable with Figma plus modern AI tools like Claude Code, and willing to push prototypes into real builds when a static mock can't answer the question.

  • Track record of operating independently in fast-moving environments: setting direction, managing your own priorities, and partnering productively with PMs and engineers.
