Summary:
We are seeking a proactive, intellectually curious Product Analyst to help drive the success of our consumer products, including ABCmouse and Adventure Academy. Partnering closely with Product Managers and two other Product Analysts, you will design and analyze A/B tests to inform product launch and iteration decisions, conduct deep-dive exploratory analyses, and apply statistical and data science techniques to understand and predict key customer behaviors such as subscription conversion, engagement, retention, and churn. You will build and maintain dashboards and self-serve data tools that enable Product Managers and business partners to explore metrics independently, and translate complex analyses into clear, actionable insights that improve conversion, engagement, and learning outcomes for children.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and analyze experiments: Lead A/B testing across desktop and mobile platforms to inform product launches and iterations.
  • Analyze customer behavior: Conduct deep-dive exploratory analyses to understand how customers subscribe, pay, engage, retain, and churn.
  • Apply statistical and data science techniques: Use statistical methods and analytical modeling to evaluate product performance and understand customer behavior.
  • Define and track success metrics: Establish and refine KPIs that guide product iteration and define success for the company.
  • Build self-serve reporting and dashboards: Create and maintain automated dashboards and reporting tools that enable Product Managers and business partners to monitor product and business performance independently.
  • Translate data into insights: Synthesize complex analyses into clear, actionable insights that drive improvements in conversion, engagement, retention, and learning outcomes.
  • Communicate findings clearly: Present results and recommendations to a broad range of stakeholders in a concise, compelling, and accessible way.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience: 6+ years of experience in a product analytics, data analytics, or related role supporting large-scale digital products. Experience in games, edtech, or subscription-based businesses is a plus.
  • Experimentation: Strong experience designing, executing, and analyzing A/B tests to inform product decisions.
  • Exploratory analysis: Ability to conduct exploratory data analyses and synthesize complex datasets and ambiguous questions into clear, actionable insights.
  • Technical skills: Advanced proficiency in SQL for querying large datasets; experience with data transformation and modeling (e.g., dbt) is a plus. Extensive experience with a BI tool such as Omni, Looker, or Lightdash.
  • Statistical analysis: Ability to perform statistical analyses and create visualizations using R or Python.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., statistics, applied math, data science, economics, computer science, or related discipline).
  • Mindset & collaboration: Curious, motivated self-starter who thrives in a collaborative, high-performing environment and values high-quality, thoughtful analysis.

Total Compensation:
The estimated salary range for a new hire in this position is $150,000 USD to $170,000 USD. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
