What you'll do
Design and develop CarGurus next generation data and instrumentation platforms across various projects and products. Duties include: align data strategy with organizational goals, enabling advanced business intelligence and analytics capabilities; design complex data structures and algorithms to machine learning and data analytics; deploy code and use data to power CarGurus product and drive our decisions; deliver software and analytics to consumers and dealers worldwide; collaborate with both data-producing and data-consuming teams; ensure that prioritization of products align with high-level strategies and business objectives of CarGurus; architect and design processes, systems, tools, and capabilities required to produce and maintain core data assets in a highly iterative environment; review and manage the architecture of enterprise and client-facing data management strategies to collect, store, and increase the usability and quality of enterprise and client data from multiple diverse sources; review the architecture of site instrumentation and tracking platforms and tools and ensure they are scalable, reliable, and secure; apply knowledge of new technologies and trends in the data space and identify new opportunities and best practices to improve CarGurus data capabilities; collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data governance frameworks, including data ownership, classification, and lineage; collaborate with product management teams to understand business requirements and ensure that product development aligns with data architecture principles in order to expand our capabilities of offering data as a product; and communicate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders and be a trusted advisor on data-related matters. Telecommuting available 2 days per week, Must be available to report into Boston, MA office.
Who You Are:
Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation: Requires five (5) years of experience in each of the following: Site instrumentation, user journey tracking, site-tracking, and clickstream logging systems; Building and managing large-scale tracking platforms; Architecting and designing large scalable systems; Data infrastructure, systems, and tools including Snowflake, Snowplow, DBT, Fivetran, or Looker; Architecting end-to-end data solutions including data collection and storage, data modeling, and data consumption; Leading and participating in data architecture strategy and roadmap engagements; AWS; and Data DevOps engineering using Continuous Integration/Delivery tools.
