WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking an expert marketing leader who will drive the marketing vision for Basketball at Converse. This person will report into the Senior Director of Global Marketing at Converse.  You will lead the cross-functional brand offense working with product merchandising, marketing, marketplace, communications, social, and more.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

With a hyperfocus on basketball, you will be responsible for providing brand management, strategic leadership, team collaboration, functional excellence, and direction for the Converse brand. This person will create the seasonal basketball marketing plan and the management of its execution across the globe with a focus in North America and Western Europe. You will drive brand energy and fuel consumer demand within our basketball space.

     

This role will help to build a strong connection between Converse and basketball

strategic planning. You will participate in the creation and the development of a long-term vision for Converse basketball. You will lead a brand offense focused on the consumer that will impact Converse business growth. This position is responsible for setting the seasonal direction for the Global Basketball Marketing function and Geo Marketing teams for a cohesive execution. This will ensure that the consumer is at the forefront of all strategic planning and execution. You will do all of this while driving management of a tight budgets and being solution oriented. 

  

You obsess the consumer. This person will integrate Geo-voice through regular insights and emerging trends sessions. You will serve as a hub; ensure alignment across key functional and geo execution of the consumer journey. Connect us through making of the product, selling it, and branding it. 

Communication is key to success. You will engage and inspire teams with what’s happening in basketball. You will build strong relationships withing the community and with our athletes, partners, and agencies. You will be transparent, communicating well and often with extended teams.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, experience or training
  • Minimum of 8 years of brand marketing or brand management experience with a specific focus on basketball
  • Consumer centered and community driven
  • Global execution experience 
  • Digital acumen with a strong understanding of current consumer landscape in basketball culture 
  • Big picture thinker who can connect our daily work to our critical enterprise priorities
  • Extremely strong cross-functional collaborator
  • Experience translating strategy into execution
  • Strong business acumen
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong leadership presence and ability to lead through influence
  • Must have professional experience aligned to basketball
