You and your co-leads—a Product Manager and a Product Operations Manager—form a matrix team that supports data and bench scientists in identifying new biological targets using novel AI-driven Target Discovery approaches.

Together, you will develop and evolve a holistic vision, strategy, and roadmap for capturing and prioritizing biological targets. You will help establish this data product across the entire end-to-end data pipeline, spanning the informatics platform and application portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect scalable in-house solutions or integrating commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) tools and custom components.

  • Drive data integration strategies across platforms to streamline scientific workflows.

  • Provide technical leadership to internal and external development teams, ensuring alignment with product goals and engineering best practices.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, product operations managers, scientists, and other engineering teams to translate complex research needs into robust software solutions.

  • Champion the use of Generative AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to enhance developer productivity and innovation.

  • Ensure adherence to Novartis global Information Security, Quality, and Regulatory Compliance standards.

Experience Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience building commercial-quality cloud-based solutions at significant scale effectively via various SDLC, and product-led approaches, delivering performance, quality, and reliability

  • Demonstrated ability to act as technical lead of challenging products that integrate with other products

  • Ability to improve processes and methods across products

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence effectively in a matrix environment

  • Extensive experience with modern programming languages (Java, JavaScript, Python, etc.), operating systems and software development environments

  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Couch, Mongo, Neo4j, etc.)

  • Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure) & container technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)

  • Experience in web service development

  • Experience with software development code management principles and tools (e.g. JIRA, Bitbucket, Jenkins, CI/CD, etc.)

  • Well-structured working style with open and clear communication that enables effective collaboration across multiple teams, sites and time zones

  • Attention to detail and passion for the end-user experience

  • Practical experience with Generative AI frameworks and libraries; adept at leveraging developer tools such as GitHub Copilot
