Want a seat at our table? Ziosk is looking for a highly skilled Senior Report Developer with deep expertise in SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Power BI Report Builder (Paginated Reports) to join our growing data and analytics team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of designing and developing enterprise-grade reports and dashboards for both operational and executive-level audiences. Experience with Azure Databricks and cloud-based data platforms is a strong plus.


You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, product managers, and business stakeholders, to deliver interactive reports and dashboards sourced from large-scale data pipelines on Azure.


The Main Course – Responsibilities 

  • Design, develop, deploy, and maintain interactive and paginated reports with Power BI Report Builder
  • Migrate existing SSRS reports to Power BI Report Builder
  • Create and maintain complex data-driven subscriptions for report delivery
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, data analysts, and engineers to gather reporting requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Optimize and enhance existing reports for performance, usability, and scalability
  • Develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and views to support reporting needs
  • Integrate reports with data sources, including Azure SQL, Azure Synapse, and Azure Databricks
  • Perform thorough testing and validation of report logic and data accuracy
  • Manage and support the report deployment lifecycle across development, staging, and production environments
  • Ensure proper documentation of reporting assets and data lineage
  • Provide mentorship and support to junior report developers
  • Monitor reporting infrastructure and provide Level 2 support for report failures and data issues
  • Adhere to best practices in report design, security, and version control (e.g., Git)

What You Bring To The Table – Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • 5+ years of professional experience in report development
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
  • SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services)
  • Power BI Report Builder (Paginated Reports)
  • Migrating SSRS reports to Power BI Report Builder
  • Advanced proficiency in T-SQL and relational database concepts
  • Experience working with large and complex datasets in Azure SQL, SQL Server, or similar platforms
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and performance-tuning skills
  • Experience implementing role-level or row-level security in reports

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience integrating reports with Azure Databricks, including using Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, or Spark SQL
  • Familiarity with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service
  • Knowledge of Data Modeling, ETL pipelines, or data warehouse design
  • Experience with DevOps practices for report deployment (CI/CD)
  • Proficiency with DAX and M Query (Power Query) is a strong plus
