Position will be posted until filled.

BASIC FUNCTION:

This position is generally responsible for analyzing and evaluating financing requests of large corporate agriculture (may include but not limited to: dairy, cattle, tree nuts, vineyards, vegetable, other agribusiness and capital markets accounts).  Job responsibilities will include: (i) general business and economic analyses; (ii) financial analysis and modeling; (iii) business valuations; (iv) processing loan applications and credit report writing.  The position requires preparation and presentation of credit reports to account officers or committees.  The position includes a broad range of servicing and monitoring responsibilities, including assisting account officers with account servicing, credit administration, and loan documentation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:                      

  • Develops credit information for use by account officers or committees in making lending decisions on new loans, renewal loans, miscellaneous loan servicing actions and restructuring actions.  Includes interviewing prospects, customers, or lead lenders and collects or aides in gathering complete financing packages.  Co-sponsors credit requests with account officer.

  • Reviews all pertinent credit and financial information; determines the need for more thorough investigation or additional information; analyzes financial statements, forecasts and related material; prepares summaries, presents facts, and offers opinions concerning credit-worthiness.  Prepares complete credit reports.

  • Prepares and edits information memorandums, term sheets and related documents.  May relay information to and answer questions from participating lenders. 

  • Performs credit administration, account servicing (including but not limited to, compliance and Borrowing Base validation and monitoring and periodic financial reviews), development, packaging, loan closing, documentation, and monitoring.

  • Maintains control over current accounts, noting payment progress and monitoring other trends.  Keeps account officers informed of trends and compliance with covenants.

  • Participates in the preparation of general business and economic research and analysis; provides statistical reports, and verifies information.

  • Develops spreadsheets and other automated tools for credit analysis, special projects, or presentations.  Processes credit requests through online loan origination system.

  • Participates in collateral control activities including but not limited to, inventory analysis and verification, and accounts receivable maintenance and verification.

  • Participates in the training and development of other Association staff, and review the work of others.

  • Perform other functions/duties as assigned.

LEVELS OF SUPERVISION EXERCISED AND RECEIVED:

Generally exercises no supervision.  Makes independent decisions; works under general direction of the Director of Corporate Underwriting. May mentor or train other staff.

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

The Senior Portfolio Analyst will work independently managing their portfolio and customer interactions. Portfolios managed will have an increased level of complexity and size. This role is expected to operate independently, proactively solution, and serve as a key partner in customer interactions.

  • Bachelor’s degree required, majors in finance, business or related field is preferred.  Familiar with accounting principles, and banking policies, procedures and processes. 

  • Seven (7) years of prior experience in credit/financial analysis work is required.

  • Demonstrated skills in cash flow, balance sheet, profitability, liquidity, and solvency analysis is required.

  • General knowledge of agriculture and/or agribusiness is preferred.

  • Demonstrated analytical and statistical skills to evaluate, prioritize and categorize data in various formats.  Working knowledge of Excel or similar spreadsheet and analytical software is required.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in organizing and prioritizing work to meet deadlines is required.

  • Knowledge of FCA regulations, association and district policies and procedures is required.

  • Strong communication skills, including written and verbal, are required.

  • Strong persuasive and interpersonal skills are required.

  • Proficient in the use of PC, including word processing, e-mail and electronic spreadsheet software. 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Must have the ability to perform basic office tasks, work in an office or outdoor setting and be able to sit at a desk and work at a computer for an extended period of time. This job regularly requires the employee to visit job sites and must be able walk, sit, crouch, kneel, crawl, reach and be able to lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to navigate around construction equipment and business materials is required. Must have the ability to walk for some distance, more than a mile, during or getting to an inspection.  Must have strong written and verbal communication skills to adequately convey ideas and work well with a team. Ability to talk and hear, sit and use their hands and fingers, and reach in all directions is essential in performance of the job. Some travel required and must have a valid C Class driver’s license. Work during established business hours and may require occasional weekend and/or evening work. Position can be remote with occasional office visitation required as determined by leadership.

FULL-TIME REMOTE: These roles and job functions can be done remotely, while maintaining our strong commitment to customer service and our business goals. Employees are welcome to come to an office to work if needed, and some travel for team meetings will be required.

PAY RANGE:

Minimum $98,644.40 - Max $167,695.49 Annual

This range is reflective of the national salary average for this position and will be adjusted using geographic variance for physical location of the hired candidate. American AgCredit may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.

  • Reflected is the national base pay range and title offered for this job at the current level.

  • Compensation, title, and job level may be adjusted based on candidate qualifications including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location.

  • Salary offered, within the applicable range, is one component of the total rewards package offered to candidates.
