The Claims Liability Performance Analytics group seeks a Senior Performance Analytics Consultant for Auto Bodily Injury (ABI) analytics and strategy. This role requires analytical expertise and strategic thinking to translate complex data into meaningful business insights. As a trusted advisor to Claims leadership, you will develop innovative monitoring metrics and deliver actionable insights to inform critical business strategies. Your work involves deep dives into ABI data to identify trends, evaluate organizational changes, and anticipate emerging risks. In this visible role, you will collaborate with Claims, Actuarial, and Product teams to create a comprehensive analytics framework supporting Auto operations. Clear communication of technical information to senior leadership is essential. You will also assist consultants and process owners with metrics development and process improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills, capable of presenting technical findings to diverse audiences. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with various partners and stakeholders, delivering insights that directly influence operational performance and strategy.

This role can have a Hybrid or Remote work arrangement. Candidates who live near one of our locations will have the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday). Candidates who do not live near an office should maintain their current work arrangement with the expectation of coming into the office as business needs arise.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct deep dive analyses into emerging trends and root causes, providing results and recommendations to Claims Senior Leadership, while testing hypotheses, monitoring outcomes, and offering strategic feedback for continuous improvement.

  • Build trusted partnerships with Underwriting, Product, and Actuarial teams by converting claims metrics into actionable business insights.

  • Work within an Agile environment, communicating status updates and roadblocks at huddle meetings while delivering on all committed user stories.

  • Provide analytical guidance and support to consultants and process owners.

  • Actively explore new analytical tools and techniques.

Experience & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field required.

  • Demonstrated strong data analytic skills and familiarity with key tools (Tableau experience required).

  • Strong communication skills and ability to build robust partnerships.

  • Proven ability to manage and manipulate large data sets to translate them into actionable insights.

  • Experience managing multiple projects concurrently, setting priorities to meet business goals and objectives.

  • Ability to lead without formal authority and to work both independently and in a team environment.

  • Documented track record of creating innovative data solutions; passion for delivering outcomes.

  • Proficiency in SQL required; Python preferred.

  • Strong problem-solving ability and proficiency in quickly analyzing and understanding data structures.

  • Internal motivation driving solutions and overcoming challenges.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$92,800 - $139,200
