About the Role
Ontra is seeking a Senior People Analytics and Compensation Manager reporting to our Director, People Ops and Total Rewards.
We’re looking for someone excited to establish foundational people analytics while consulting leaders on key people data and compensation-related topics. You’ll play a critical role in maturing our data and analytics practices across a wide range of people programs, including employee engagement and listening, benefits, compensation, employee relations, employee experience, talent acquisition, and talent management.
In the role, you will be asked to support a wide array of deliverables ranging from data modeling, data visualization, and presentation building, to spreadsheets, and reporting. Attention to detail, flexibility, and creative problem-solving will be key to success in this role, as the work you do will be different every day.

What You’ll Do
- Business Consulting: Partner with our Talent Acquisition Partners and People Business Partners to develop and deliver data-driven insights and recommendations to our business stakeholders
- Data Modeling and Visualization: Operate within our data tech stack (e.g., FiveTran, Snowflake, Looker Studio) and our people systems of record (e.g., Greenhouse, Rippling) in partnership with our data team to ingest, model, and visualize people data
- Programs Work: Act as a primary contributor for key people programs deliverables such as our annual engagement survey, benefits survey, executive reporting, and compensation planning
- Routine Data Management: Collaborate with our People Ops team to build repeatable and self-service practices for completing routine data requests (e.g., surveys, business requests, etc.)
- Team Development: Invest in educating and equipping the Ontra team members to advance their skills in people analytics and compensation
What You’ll Bring
- Experience: 8+ years of experience in relevant roles, demonstrating expertise in people analytics and compensation management
- SQL Proficiency: 5+ years of SQL experience, capable of independently building queries and modeling data from scratch, and serving as the people team liaison to our in-house data analytics and engineering teams
- Google Sheets Expertise: 5+ years of on-the-job experience with Google Sheets, including the ability to build complex models and analytical tools
- Data Visualization: 5+ years of experience communicating data visually, including proficiency in data visualization tools and delivering business presentations (e.g., Looker Studio, Google Slides)
- HR Knowledge (Preferred): Strong understanding of HR teams, programs, metrics, and data is a plus, with any background in HR roles considered beneficial

Some positions may be eligible for additional compensation, such as commission, variable compensation, profits interest units, or other equity-based compensation, which are not included in the below base pay range.
